You got the ideaI dont get it, you mean to store the covers in /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers but not having multiman installed ? (so using a cover pack installed as gamedata ?)
For instance, this is the compilation of covers that I did 4-6 years ago.

How many times have you deleted multiMAN? Anyway if you do it, it's a simple as re-install the coversI guess it could create some incompatibilities if at some point you want to uninstall multiman but not the covers, also if the cover pack has been installed as gamedata category GD then you try to install multiman on top as HG not sure what would happen
In IRISMAN + webMAN MOD I also have the option for 5 paths not related to backup managers:Anyway, even if it works is a bit twisted in my oppinion, i think is better to have the covers separatedly from all backup managers
/dev_hdd0/GAMES/covers
/dev_hdd0/GAMEZ/covers
path of iso + .jpg / .png
online covers (e.g. default to DeViL303's server.... He is paying a lot of $$$$ for this hosting)
custom path (you use the path of your preference)
The idea is bright, but IMHO it's a bit out of time...What @Berion is doing with THIS is the right idea. Standard location for CFW icons, so ALL packages can share them, this makes ALL packages smaller. It also means whole XMB, all mods and apps can be skinned in one place, so users can make theme packs easily. I will be using this for all my mods going forward.
1- PS3 is now obsolete (discontinued worldwide since May 2017)
2- There is almost no new homebrew / apps developments for PS3 (except for the new exploits)
3- The concept to work requires the adoption from developers
4- It has the problem that adds a dependency to an external folder (which can be installed or not)
lol, if i was you , i would tell everyone to piss off, and just pick one path, and say "use this or your covers wont work, simple as that"![]()
