PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

Put this together last night. It will log the entire SD card init process to a text file on a USB flash drive. To use it all you need to do is connect a FAT32 formatted flash drive and load the ELF with uLaunchELF. Once it's complete it will automatically exit and there should be a new file on the flash drive called "sdcard_log.txt".

I encourage anyone who's having compatibility issues to run this and submit the logs.

Below is the log for that 16GB Sony card that doesn't work.

 I just used this and found out that my SD card is dying. Makes me want to test my other SD cards I use for this

That doesn't quite help us with compatibility tests though.

Do you have a card, which is incompatible?

For the time being, here is "BDM4.5" by @qnox32 , which includes the SD-Compatibility fixes as well as checksumming being disabled and I think it is also "up to date" to the latest official OPL Beta-builds.

Works like a charm for me, Sony card aside, of course.

I've been keeping a log of things that cause crashes on BDM4.5. So far the list is very slim, as in one thing - the synthetic speech system in Tokimeki Memorial 3 hangs every time. But I will continue checking it out as I play more games extensively though.

So it seems that a more complete initialization of the cards not only increases the compatibility of them showing files and us being able to access it, but also "stability" in games.

The 2 last BDM-Test-builds by @qnox32 seem to work quite decently!

I've tested every game I have and only found obvious problems with 5 of them. Gradius 3&4 and Gradius 5 fail to boot entirely, Vampire Chronicles fails to boot, and Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 has extreme stuttering during FMVs.

I tested different "modes" as well with each of these and couldnt make any of them work.

Is there any place people are tracking bug reports? I imagine not, but if there is I would happily report there.

Nice, I played around a little and BDM4.5 definitely fixed several games that had stuttering issues for me, including Tekken 5, Guitar Hero III, DDR Extreme 2. Thanks qnox!! Only problem I've found with my set of games is with Gitaroo Man, but that's never worked for me in the past either. Gets stuck at 'Now Loading' when first starting a game. Very happy with this build.

Are these issues new to BDM4.5 and beyond or are they present in older/other builds as well?

Greetings all, and thanks for all your work. I hope to contribute when I can get this working.
after all the steps taken in the nacho video, I open OPL to the option BDM with no files in the window.

specs and more:
PS2 Slim 79001
Kingston Canvas Select Plus 32gb (formatted in Fat32: Created CD and DVD folders at root, loaded with Tekken 4 iso in DVD folder to test)
MC2SIO
OPL downloaded from: h**ps://heldergametech.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Latest-OPL-Setup-BDM4.zip
I created my own FreeMcBoot card from the the one sold by Helder: h**ps://heldergametech.com/shop/ps2/free-mcboot-with-real-magicgate-memory-card/
I followed the video that Macho Nacho did about a year ago.

By any chance, is there a guide or a more updated guide I can follow?
for example, in Nacho's video I do not have the option for OPL for 7500+ I can only assume the OPL from that Helder link has this already built into the OPNPS2LD.ELF ?

Thanks again,
GD
