I have a CECHA01 "PHAT" PS3 running Rebug 4.81.1 REX with multiMAN 4.81.01 and webMAN MOD 1.45.05 installed. So I'm tying to use webMAN's external game date option, I deleted my game data from the internal HDD and enabled external game data in webMAN, but when I try to install game data to external HDD it instead installs on internal HDD. External HDD is plugged into USB_000 port, the GAMEI folder was created, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Also, my PS3 game backups are on the same external HDD as the GAMEI folder. Does the external game data folder need to be on a different USB device?

Yeah, I tried that. but the data became corrupted.
If you enable external Game Data with the xmb shortcut, the gamepad combo or the web command, games will not install to the internal hdd, it is not possible because Cobra remaps all references to the /dev_hdd0/game path into /dev_usb000/GAMEI.
You are doing something wrong.
Check your steps again.

Here are the web commands.
/extgd.ps3 toggles external GAME DATA
/extgd.ps3? shows status of external GAME DATA
/extgd.ps3?1 enables external GAME DATA
/extgd.ps3?enable enables external GAME DATA
/extgd.ps3?0 disables external GAME DATA
/extgd.ps3?disable disables external GAME DATA
Make sure you have an edition of wMM that supports external game data.
Mount your game.
Enable external game data with /extgd.ps3?enable
Use /extgd.ps3? to check the status of the feature.
Launch the game.

Thanks. I will try these commands.

I know this sounds dumb but is your drive formatted to FAT32? When I used to use this mine was NTFS upon first trying but it didn't support NTFS. Not sure if that has changed but it didn't occur to me it needed to be FAT32 at first. I still use it from time to time with my 128gb flash drive and works great using the latest webMAN MOD 1.44.09

Yeah, my drive is FAT32.

No, it's a CECHA01. Build date of November 2006. I've updated to Rebug 4.81.2 and I'm gonna update webMAN to 1.45.10 and try the web commands. Maybe try copying game data to GAMEI folder again. Let ya know how it goes. Thanks.

Good luck!!

it installs on internal hdd due to path of webman url launcher when u enable external gamedata in webman
path is pkglaunch hence->fp = fopen("/dev_hdd0/game/PKGLAUNCH/USRDIR/launch.txt", "rb");
being installed path which is why the install is being redirected

So, do I just have to edit the launch.txt file?

Hello friends, I had the same problem. And I solved the problem. First of all, the writing and reading speed of the external hard drive should be relatively good so that we don't have frame drops in the game. How to do it, you must first load the desired game with Webman, and before entering the game, you must activate the external game data with the combination keys at the same time as pressing Select and the square, and then enter the game. Note: You must always activate game data before entering the game.
