PS3 Official PS3 Toolset Update (v1.2.007) Release (4.91 Support)

Following Sony firmware update of 4.91 for the PS3, developer's across the scene have been updating various exploits and tools. We have seen developer @Evilnat release his 4.91 PS3 Custom Firmware's earlier in the week. Then we recently just had @esc0rtd3w & @Joonie provide PS3HEN (& HFW) updated with 4.91 Support. Now we have developer @bguerville with an update to his PS3 Toolset to support the exploiting of 4.91 OFW for custom firmware installation for capable models.​

The PS3 Toolset's - System Manager (SM) will allow for exploiting of the PlayStation 3 internal flash, to then allow for a CFW installation such as Evilnat's Custom Firmware. You must have a CFW capable model, the PS3 Toolset will determine if your console is CFW compatible.(All Fat Models and early Slim Models).

• The PS3 Toolset v1.2.007 update is now live!
  A minor update.
  
  • 4.91 firmware support was added
  • custom syscalls type detection was fixed
    
  • idps/psid is now hidden by default in system manager
  • I used the opportunity to apply a few minor fixes as well.
  
  A more comprehensive update enabling the file manager is currently being worked on and will be rolled out in due time, no ETA as always.
  
  Just for info.
  A few changes were also made to the server, I hope it won't cause any issues.. we haven't experienced any during testing.
  I assume I will get reports if there are new unexpected access problems.

Just for curiosity is the eMMC superslim capable of dumping via the toolset? How would it be possible to dump an entire flash region of 12 GB (over 4GB) onto a FAT32 thunbdrive without depending on homebrew just to split it? @bguerville

 

Can anyone please help? I had my PS3 with EvilNat 4.91 but then had to send it to repair and the professional reverted it back to OFW (4.91 too). I was told I have to make the whole process again through PS3ToolSet, but I'm unable to access the website. It keeps giving me the 80710a06 code, and even though I remove the "s" from "https://" (so it becomes "http://www.ps3toolset.com"), the website immediatelly forwards me to another "https://" again (being "https://www.ps3toolset.com/bgtoolset") over and over again.

today i just bought a ps3 slim (the model who has the lights on the ejects button and on/off button) i tried both ps3xploits and ps3toolset websites and both say Page cannot be displayed

yes i tried both changing address to http but force redirects to https for some reasons and changing to google's dns, is there a fix for this?

Next time, I suggest you to search the forums as this issue has been reported and workarounds were provided.

You can use the Flash Writer tool, or setup a proxy in order to bypass the SSL checks in order to use BgToolset.

If you don't feel up to the task, you can always use HEN.
