Please Help! Cobra ODE on 4.7?

I bought a Cobra ODE when they first came out hoping it would work as reported. Always work no matter the firmware version so I could keep my PS3 up to date after a friend updated it and ruined my jailbreak! I was on 4.5 when it was installed and it works great. I think I updated it once maybe twice with patches they put out for the ODE. It's now been a year or more and I spent a lot of it ignoring my ps3 but it seems we are up to 4.7. Luckily I looked it up before updating to be sure and I saw on the Cobra site they were no longer supporting some of the Fat's and mines a CECHA01. Now even out side of that I read it's more complicated to update any ps3 to even 4.66. So I need to know what I've missed, what's a DMC... do I need one, can I even use one with my PS3 and or can anyone tell me a way I can get Netflix to ignore PSN because the new updated Netflix app it doesn't work with the Router block/proxy method and really it's the only reason I want to update because I don't game online. I don't need PSN I just need a PS3 that works with my ODE because thats the main reason/way I use it. I'm just hopping I can use it for netflix again to!
 
Downgade Fw and install cfw. Mounting ODE on CechA is a crime :p Also downgrade is cheaper but find guy that really know how to downgrade Nand consoles.
 
Well if your dead set on using the ODE don't go above 4.55 TBH as Sony has added so many patches to block the use of them. Also use the Cobra PKG installer to use the NoPSN apps to bypass the need for PSN.

ODE's are junk IMO as you can't go to the latest firmware that is out and POORLY supported by all teams. Only should be used for the unbackable models and even then I suggest selling it and getting a hackable model.

I don't know of a single ODE user on these forums. I suggest trying Maxconsole as they have the ODE's junkies in mass concentration there. But your phat model is still supported as far as the team seems to be able to take it which is only 4.66.

I really suggest using a 360 clip, Teensy++ and the new Teensy2PS3 as it makes it solderless on the PS3 side and you can recover from a update. They even have System settings locker for CFW to avoid this and apps like webMAN or Rebug firmware stop an accidental update from a PS3 game being in the drive or mounted or a Bluray movie wit the firmware update.

Then we have amazing apps like PSN Patch that locks out PSN access unless your firmware is totally clean of the patches to make PSN use safe. Don't know of one user that has been banned while using it properly.

The mod you have is Sony put the best out there. Especially when paired with a Cobra CFW as it allows full support for PS1/2/3 and even good PSP support in the system.

I actually own a Progskeet 1.1 a jtag and the adapter but I could never find a good guide specifically for my console (I had trouble following the general guide on the forum). My main issue is I could not find out if I needed one 360 clip or two because there are two nand chips. Also did they ever get dual booting using a progskeet and extra nand chips working?
 
Follow [MENTION=37]3absiso[/MENTION] guide is easy to understand not sure we have all chapters that exist. Not sure but I remember that on some site i saw his downgrade tut for cok-001. If no, then look for baileyscream guide is also very good. ODE sucks :)

ps. Only one clip is needed you read one nand then second. About DB, i dont know.

I've tried both on a fat cechL01 on customer request. It was the official cobra ode. it worked, but cfw is much better. And after 4.5 they started demanding crazy requirements like bluray boots and swaps and dmc's and other junk.
then it worked even wonkier from there, even with official updates, i've had the thing borked a couple times and had to restore it. I stopped supporting ODE altogether because of the troubles :)

baileyscream has great guides, if the more specific guide mentioned above doesn't work :)
 
Does anyone know a good Canadian supplier of 360 Nand Clips? I use to order from modchipcentral but they don't seem to carry the nand version anymore.
 
First of all, the clip you are looking for is the 48 TSOP Clip not else, bad news is, it is very rare to be found,
if you are very good in Sodering ( I mean Very Good) try the Direct wiring as in the link [MENTION=5156]szunyi84[/MENTION] put,
if you did not find the older clip buy the new 48 Tsop universal Clip as in here:

Try to follow Bailyscream Guides for NAND you will not find better guides, i am working on finishing My Guide but i need free time to complete which i do not right now
