PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

I made a 850/1100 and is stable here (Crysis and GOW)

So i have not reached my memory limit yet, but my core is definitely 850 max otherwise random crashes (Crysis and GOW)

Maybe i'll jump to 1200 memory (100% overclock)

From 1000 to 1100 i got an increase of 4FPS, more than i'm getting with core increases

How is it compared to a 900+/900+? I'm curious if it'd be more beneficial to use a modest core with a higher memory than trying to push both evenly.

Not quite. 1300 would be 100% but you are close. The RSX has a default memory clock of 650 which equates to 21.6GB/s memory bandwidth and you are very close to 35GB/s currently.

Edit: Fun facts - in order to have more memory bandwidth than the PS2 you'll need a memory clock of higher than 1.5GHz (48GB/s). To match the desktop 7900 GTX (the close desktop equivalent to the RSX) you'd need 1.6GHz for 51.2GB/s).
The core clock speed of the desktop Curie chips has already been reached. The highest variant sold was 690MHz on the core.

1100 ?! Wow :')
Hey, "Live fast, die young" :cool2:
@Mitsu™ , just to let you know, I tested your latest mfw builder mod, after reading some comments of errors when building. it works fine for me like the others. built the insane 1000/1050 lol!
PS3 explosion speedrun world record
That's reassuring ! So there are just some compatibility issues with Windows 10 and 11 (for some).

I had issues with win11 and ps3iso tools. Win11 blocked access to disks for ps3iso tool exe files. After adding them to white list they started to work. After this I installed win7 virt machine. Everything works.

What is the impact of core and vram on the system? I am currently at 850/975. Is it necessary to try 900/975 again?@Mitsu™
If I'm right, from our experiments, if 850 on core is fully stable then 900 should not be too dangerous (in theory). At worst you will notice artifacting or crashes but the brick risk seems to be lower compared to VRAM. IIRC, all the brick cases we had recently during this experiments are VRAM related.
At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk and if you're ready to face it.

I will add this in the video description.
Winlator (windows emulator for Android) use Windows 7 by default, that's probably why I can run this program easily.

Very interesting. I use the PS3ISO tools just fine on my Windows 11 installation. I run the files directly from my NAS. Did you "Unblock" the files in the properties?

Hey Everyone I was jailed(banned temporarily lmao) from spam uploading. Nice to see people are going up the chain with 1100+ but I must say each and every game has it's unique OC, as long as your ps3 is not bricked just know you can go higher. I finished all the demanding games. I plan to use 800/1000 for GTA V. Currently playing it.

All in all if your ps3 doesn't brick upon installation of pup and it's stable on the menu and stable on the current game you good to play with it until you finish the game, might wanna just adjust fan speeds.

Hence I said you should have 3 best pups to cycle over depending on the games you are playing :)

Well IMHO you are either stable or you are not. When it crashes at too high temperatures or in some games the OC is not stable.

Same on my Win11 PC, i was able to build using a virtual machine running w7

I agree, it's better to adapt the OC as needed. No reason to leave it running at full power for every game (or for PS1/PS2/PSP games too).
Do we know what WebmanMod Version is displaying the Rsx Core and VRam Speed in Game ?
You need to modify "VshFpsCounter.yaml".
Code:
http://0.0.0.0/edit.ps3/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_res/VshFpsCounter.yaml
You can also just find this file via FTP.
Code:
dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_res/VshFpsCounter.yaml
Don't worry, it should be easy.

Indeed. I'm using windows 11 myself. I'm not really sure what's causing errors for others. I have the base version of mfw builder in Program Files (x86), which requires full privileges to Users in order to write the keys iirc. On desktop, where I put yours, I just ran the exe as administrator. @haxxxen suggested running the tools folder as administrator as well iirc, so members with issues might mess with that. I don't have to myself.
