PS2 Classics GUI

PS3 PS2 Classic GUI v2.2.3

I need help with a problem in the PS2 Classic GUI application. When I turn it on, everything is fine, but when I add the ISO file, the application turns off. Does anyone know what to do with it?

  • GX - Configs extracted from emulator used in semi BC consoles. Very good compatibility with games.
  • SOFT - Configs extracted from software emulator that Sony prepared for us before they realized that they can resale game again as classic. If config exist here, and in GX folder, you should probably select GX one. Soft one will be outdated, but if config exist only here, then select and try it.
  • NET - Configs extracted from official PS2 Classics from PS Store, best compatibility as configs are created for emu we are currently using
  • CUSTOM - Configs made by scene contributors, you can find here some configs for rare games.

ORIGINAL - Here are files for CFW only, and they don't work on HAN hacked PS3.
  • |-- GX - read description above
  • |-- SOFT - read description above
  • |-- NET - read description above
  • |-- CUSTOM - read description above
The ENC files that i find in the CONFIG database refer only to super slims with HAN?

Hello @aldostools .

Si je peux me permettre, pourquoi les configs que tu diffuses sur ton site ne sont plus à jour depuis le 29/5/2023 ?
Merci par avance pour ta réponse.

If I may ask, why are the configs that you post on your site no longer up to date since 5/29/2023 ?
Thank you in advance for your response.

Algol "le papy".

Try turning off Data Execution Prevention (DEP)
I made an account specifically to ask about that, I guess I didn't had to. Thanks anyway. Any idea why did it work just fine a few months ago yet now I had to dig through the Windows' settings (again)? Is there any chance any pointless updates going to mess with things again? Also, does (low) system performance affect the program or is it always a bit on the slow side?

DEP is an internal security protection of Windows. The program uses VB5 which is considered "old" technology by their own creators.

DEP turned off seems to be required randomly. Some systems don't need it, others cause crashes if DEP is turned on.

Maybe some Windows update changed the requirements for DEP. I'm just guessing. I really don't know for sure.

hello im a bit confused here. i have a cecha01 console all ps3 and psx games are in pkg format. can i have my ps2 games in pkg format instead of iso and work with ps2_emu (full ee\gs)? or this method is only working with ps2_netemu (full emulation)

As far I know, PS2 Classics (PS2 in PKG format or .BIN.ENC launched with the PS2 Classics Placeholder) only work with ps2_netemu.

On the other hand, PS2 ISO images or PS2 discs emulated on PS3 phats with backward compatibility use ps2_emu or ps2_gxemu depending the model. All other PS3 models including slims and superslims always use ps2_netemu from the internal HDD.

Since version 7.5, Cobra has the opcode 0x1ee9 on syscall 8 that lets force the PS2 ISO images run using ps2_netemu on PS3 B/C models only. webMAN MOD uses this setting to play PS2 ISO images with ps2_netemu on CECH-A, CECH-B, CECH-C, CECH-E.

Therefore if you want to play PS2 games with ps2_emu, you have to use an ISO or a PS2 disc (original or backup).

ok thanks for the clarification. so i will use multiman mount the ps2 iso and launch the disc icon from xmb as if disc is inserted in bd drive. cecha is all about the ee/gs (ps2_emu) when it comes to ps2 games

I want to ask,
1. For gta sa, which config is most recommended? is it "gx", "soft", "net" or "custom"? by the way I'm using a PS3 hen 30xx and I'm a bit confused about this
2. Does the game require rap after being made pkg?
3. I only play offline so does it require PSN account activation? If it is necessary, can it be activated offline with the Apollo Save Tool?
