Ps2 game on ps3 crash?

Sometimes games that are pre-patched (like PAL to NTSC by JayteeMaster) breaks the ISO and then making it incompatible / unrecognizable by the ps2emu on PS3.

Try to load your iso from PCSX2 on a PC and see if it works there. If it works there then your ISO is not pure, is modified.

Or.. Just check md5 of iso comparing to redump database. If md5 is different, you made bad rip. So you need to recreate your iso from original media.
 
i'm having the same issue here, i tried to play def jam and other games but it wont start "my ps3 Freezes when i launch it" so i tried to launch ps2 games via changing it to pkg and installing it and when i do that and try to install it's pkg i get stuck on "Please wait" page before installing and it stays forever like that.

running D-REX 4.84.2
Cobra 8.1 Enabled
Tried launching ps2 games on DEX, CEX but nothing works + i dont see "Toggle ps2 emulator" setting in the rebug toolbox Selector page
i'll try the EU version of def jam and see what happens.
