PS2 PS2 Swap Method Game List (2019)

I extracted the ISOs from my burned discs:

- DVD version: ebc421a663afb1a4e096d22f93fe579b
- CD version: fdad5eacac3ec65c05e5b8e5417b6f25

I checked the MD5 of uLE v4.38 boot DVD ISO from @jolek's link. It match.

Can you only try swap magic.elf?
I mean insert any disc (DVD is preferred) launch swapmagic.elf through wLe,
when swap-magic will be launched swap disc with uLe dood DVD.iso.

it's what I've done.

So for you this Ule 4.38 DVD works?? On which Ps2 model can you start it??

I remember that I've tried uLe 4.38 DVD with genuine Swap-Magic (org disc).
I mean I've inserted swap magic, blocked all lid sensors in SCPH-77004,
when swap magic 3.8 DVD was launched, disc stops, replace it with uLe 4.38 DVD, wLe should be launched.
After that I'd an ability to install look for FMCB installer and installs it.

I've also made some tests with an elf (swapmagic.elf) long time ago...
Bur unfortunately it was long time ago, so I forgot some details,
that is why I helped my self with quite old post(s).

Currently I'm out of my (PS2) consoles...

I said 'built well/correctly'... not 'burned' or anything else...
The ISO/Image probably is not properly made...

First time I installed FMCB I used a disc (don't remember if a CD or DVD). I installed FMCB 1.8 on the disc, then installed on my MC using a modchipped Ps2 from a friend.
The fmcb disc version always worked perfectly. Then I burned Ule for convenience, but it never worked. I thought this Ule 4.38 just doesn't work on my consoles.
Most probably I tried to start just the elf from USB, I don't remember the result. Most probably that way it works (as any Ule version), but from disc there's no way.

But it's the official one from PSX-SCENE.
...Just for clarify, this is not important, I don't need it to works. It's just a curiosity. I'd like to see a video from someone that actually make it to work on his Ps2.
As you said maybe there's some error in the image, or maybe this version of Ule doesn't work on any Ps2 model if booted from disc, since @jolek made it to work.

Yes, either it is a bug in the version or the image is at fault.

Have you tried to create a proper ISO with the uncompressed ELF (to avoid it being a bug in PS2 Packer) and with proper PS2-Disc-Imaging tools (not Nero or IMGBurn)?

No I just tried the version I downloaded. @jolek made this version to work if I understood correctly.

You can download it and check it to see if you find something wrong: http://psx-scene.com/forums/attachm...al-launchelf-v4-42-ule-v4.38-boot-dvd-iso.zip

I downloaded it (togheter with the CD version) from another site (I don't remember from where). Btw it's exactly the same.

Well, it seems to work with a modchip and I am not too keen to test the swapping...;)

Wait, was you referring to my post?

It was FMCB 1.8 installer that worked on the chipped Ps2 (and even on my Ps2s after installed FMCB, since I patched the ISO with ESR patcher before burning).

I never tried Ule 4.38 disc version on a chipped Ps2.

No, I did not re-test it. I tested the very same DVD-ISO in ~2008 with a DMS3v2. ;)
AFAIR JNABK made the ISO via some simple tool like Nero and not PS2-Disc-tools.

Same result. I used DMC 2 (Dante disc, PAL) for swapping.

If I select the video mode (PAL) I get BSOD. Selecting default it reset the Ps2. So in my case it starts OPL. If I press O (shortcut for Ps2 Browser) I get the red screen "insert a Ps2 disc" (tried both normal and special boot).

First conclusion that comes to mind is that's a matter of LBA structure. Maybe the Swap Magic disc structure is particular and manage to make Ule to boot. I have to use game discs since I only have the swap magic elf.
It's not a matter of Toc, since Matrix PoN and DMC 2 have about the same size as Swap Magic DVDs (they fill the DVD).

Cogswap doesn't work in your tests too indeed, since you have to use a game disc for swapping. Thus a good test would be to boot cogswap and use the Swap Magic disc as high toc disc.

It might work with certain precise games too, depending on LBA structure. But it could be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I'd point to either PS2-Packer or an improperly build image, but yes it might be a needle in a haystack to find.

the only game that I have to work with swap method is 007 agent under fire due to the game not always authenticating the disc when its loading a binary executable. Most games always authenticates the disc when executing the game with bunch of elf files on it. I also have a couple of Demo disc as well but none of them work as flawlessly as 007 agent under fire (it always either go blank screen or the usual red screen), the only thing work with those games is cogswap.

Yes, just a couple games work directly replacing a elf with Ulaunchelf. with all other games you have to make one more backup with cogswap.

However with a Demo disc you can always do it with just one backup copy. Just replace the outermost game's elf (check it with Apache), replace it with cogswap and the ID with Ulaunchelf.

So you can play the original Demo disc and swap to the backup when accessing the game's demo corresponding to cogswap. Once cogswap boot just swap back to the original disc, press X then revert back to the backup and Ule (a old version) will start.

This image (ISO) was made with "unpacked\uncompressed" version of wLe.

@Peppe90 I'll try to test bootable u\wLe ASAP with Original Swap Magic & Swap Magic.ELF.

If it will work with the swap magic disc, please try with cogswap too (using the swap magic disc for the swap).
