Ps3 doesn't read the usb for update

Today I update my ps3 slim from psn, after this, the game singstar doesn't appear, and the ps3 dont read the USB memory for install HEN

Someone with the same problem?

(Sorry for my English, isn't my first language)
 
HEN doesn't work with original firmware you must install the hybrid firmware (HFW), also it's easier to install HEN with internet trough that ps3xploit site.
 
Sorry, I didn't explain correctly.

The problem here is, after the update from today, the ps3 dont read the usb so I can't install anything.
I dont have the hfw, this ps3 its "virgin"
 
Is the USB formatted to FAT32? Is you file structure like this: PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP?

Yes, everything was checked.

I need to say im not the only one with this problem, in a video from youtube many people have this problem (and the date of his comment is today).

I dont want experiment with my console, but i thought a posible solution is format my HDD and reinstall the firmware with a 4. 85 from another console (not from a psn)

But I insist, I dont feel prepared for try this and damage the ps3:(
 
And remember one thing, the game "Singstar" was eliminated after the update. This game it started the rumor from a 4.86 update nearly
 
even if you formatted the drive on another ps3 it would force a format on you when you put it in the original system. it must be mbr fat32.
 
Im sorry, the game singstar was not included in 4.85 from USA, only in EUR, that's my error.

I tried with another pendrive and now it's working, but the problem is real (I'm not the only one), if you have the same issue only change the pendrive :D
 
There is only one 4.85 CEX OFW. No difference in PUPs between regions. I think that is a rumour going around about 4.86 removing Singstar. Singstar is a XIL item on the XMB. It is loaded when the PS3 downloads an xml from Sonys servers. This is per account and per region. So basically Sony can add or remove these items at any time remotely. They do not need to release 4.86 to remove singstar, they can just push an updated xml with no singstar entry.

For example here is the the XIL xml for the game category if you in the United Kingdom, see it has one entry, Singstar.

Here is the same XML for the USA, its a completely empty XML not a dead link :

one of the vita mods does something similar. I don't remember much about it other than @atreyu187 suggesting I try it out. you could make shortcuts to apps. however, if you're connected to the internet, the system will just download the latest from sony's servers without installing a new pup. that did happen to me, so I figured it wasn't worth it.

Oh that's really good to know, the rumor is scaring the community of Latin America XD

Sorry for the alarm, the HFW now its installed in my ps3 without problems
 
Just throwing this out there, if you don't like the XIL, as I don't. You can go to hdd0/tmp/explore/xil2 and in there you'll see catagories like video and music. If you delete the folder and replace it with a dummy file those xil items don't show up anymore

Bro how did you made it? I have the same problem. I cant see the update file on any usb that I put. I did the fat32 thing and the PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP folders.
