PS3 PS3 Jailbreak Error (80023017)

Did you permanently change the PSID/CID? I believe only the PSID is allowed to be random, and the CID is ONLY WORKING FROM LEGIT PS3 FLASH MEMORY. Also, it is not the PSID/CID but rather the Target ID that needs to be set. So the target ID might be part of the PSID, which means any auto-PSID-patcher (such as webmans setting) may be setting your target ID to 0x84 automatically. Hoe this helps

PSID has nothing to do with Target ID. PSID is an offline activities ID for the PS3 (This is why clearing the consoles log is important). NP ID is online activities ID (Unique to your PSN Account). CID is the consoles actual ID that is used to access PSN in combination with your account ID (NP ID)

Its all on http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/ for people to read and learn.

I've set both the IDPS and PSID, but when I open PSNPatch now since messing around with it, it just shows my real IDPS and the notification that syscalls are already disabled. The triangle circle square prompt menu is gone. Is this a crucial step, or should it work without it?

edit: yeah, I'm certain I've set the two values to the exact correct ones, I've got the kernel at CEX and target type at DEX. It is auto-logging me in still, but I can't click account management without the error, and can't link any new PSN accounts to other profiles. PSNPatch, as I said, isn't working, but that's the only part right now.

I really advise you to disable auto login. If the SYSCALS are not disabled before login into PSN S@ny can detect the CFW on your PS3 through the information set to the servers through the SYSCALS and you WILL get banned very quickly.

As for using PSN Patch with this way all you nee to do is as soon as you press X to open the app immediately press and hold TRIANGLE, the screen will go black and keep it pressed til you hear the console beep, once the console has beeped it will return to the XMB. (The menu for PSN Patch shouldn't load, the screen should be black the whole time unitl the XMB reloads) Holding Triangle is a shortcut key to disable the SYSCALS without having to load the app every time.

Once the SYSCALS are disabled you have to restart your PS3 when you want to play a different game or use a homebrew app, as PSN Patch has a safety feature that blocks all Homebrew after the SYSCALS are disabled so you cannot accidently use them when logged in to PSN.

Yeah, I got them disabled. Still the same error code, 80023017, with all the previous steps followed. Thank you for all the help, sorry that this is so dumb.

Its ok. Its not dumb at all.

I think I have found the problem while looking back at some posts. You said you get the IDPS from webman while you were on DEX? In this case it will be the wrong one, it will infact be an EID0 CID being displayed. I just double checked webman on my ps3 and its displaying the EID0 one.

So we need to convert to CEX or use IDPSet 0.88. IDPSet will be quicker than converting to CEX then back again. Search for IDPSet 0.88 and install it on your PS3 then follw the below steps.

ON DEX -

1. On the XMB go to IDPSet and enter the app. You should now see a massive 32 digit number across the screen and under it 'Target ID: PS3 DEX'. This is not the correct IDPS to use to sign into PSN, you will not be able to sign in and if you do manage to you will get banned from the PSN Servers as this IDPS is for login into the Developers PSN Servers so don't risk it.

2.To load the IDPS we want select 'Load IDPS from EID5' and a notification will appear in the top right corner saying 'Done' and now notice the big number has changed and under it will now say: 'Target ID: PS3 UK' (or US or something else depending on where your PS3 is from) Write this number down exaclty as it is as this is the one we need to use. It will be 32 digits long so take your time and get it right.

Now enter this 32 digit no in the IDPS/CID part of CCAPI and select 'SET AT BOOT' and restart you PS3 and then try again with the game you want to play online, disable syscals with psn patch, and try to sign in.

When I open the app, I get the message Error: peek&poke disabled. Tried enabling Lv 1 peek and poke in Rebug Toolbox, but every time I exit it doesn't save the settings. is there something specific I need to do to make the settings from Rebug Toolbox stick...?

This is strange. Peek poke shouldn't be disabled at all. its enabled by default when you install the firmware. Try reinstalling REBUG 4.80. this should put the settings back to the way they should be. Only down side it that you will have to reinstall CCAPI and set the toolbox back like enable cobra and REBUG mode and make sure the console is DEX.

Yeah, that's weird if so, I never touched it before... Is installing Rebug 4.80 easy, or is that something else I'll need a lot of help for :P?

EDIT: Also, is there a specific reason not to use Rebug 4.82?

All you need is a USB stick that is formatted to FAT32, which you should have if you have been installing packages.

Rename the PUP so it reads 'PS3UPDAT.PUP' then on you USB make a folder called 'PS3' and in that folder make another one called 'UPDATE' and place the PUP file in this folder.

Once done put the USB stick into the USB closest to the Bluray drive. Make sure there are no discs in the PS3. Then go to the settings menu on the XMB, find System Update then select 'Update via storage Media' then your PS3 will search for the PUP file on the USB, check it and install the PUP file it will take about 20 - 30 mins to do. If not done correclty it will say no applicable update data found.

Or you could update to the latest REBUG which is 4.82.2 REX and you can find it on the REBUG website. But you don't get the integrated webMAN with the latest version and would need to install that yourself.

Was just mentioning 4.80 as its the one you have but i would say to update to 4.82.2 as you get the updated Cobra payload as well.

EDIT- Download the REBUG 4.82.2 REX Zip file. Inside it will be a txt file with the link, copy that into your browsers address bar to download the PUP file.

Thank you very much for the help. It's about 1.30 A.M here so I probably won't get it done tonight, but I'll reinstall Rebug/everything else required tomorrow, run the IDPSet, set the IDPS, run PSNPatch, and see if that lets me sign up for PSN with the other profiles... hope it all works out!

A reinstall of Rebug Toolbox fixed the peek/poke issue, and let me swap from CEX to Dex again/activate the 0x87 ID. I got the 32 digit code, definitely correct, and set it to patch at boot, etc, followed the PSNPatch steps, but still got the same error when I clicked "sign up" for PSN on a new profile - 80023017. Still running off Rebug 4.80 currently.

Ok something definitely isn't right here lol. Your signing into PSN the exact same way I have been for years.

Is REBUG MODE enabled in REBUG tool box? second column in the Toolbox, top option. It should say 'system mode' and have normal or REBUG next to it. make sure its on REBUG.

And you can definitely make a new psn account this way as I just made my 3rd one on psn just last month so I could start black ops 2 online again to torture some people from level 1 lol.

Rebug mode is on, yes. It's still just letting me log in from the same two profiles that always logged in, with no access to account management, and no ability to link new psn accounts... It's really bizarre!

this is odd. it's letting you login to 2 accounts you already have but won't let you make a new psn account under a new user on your PS3?

Your not by any chance trying using the quick sign up link?

Both links yield the same error, I try every time with both. With regular sign up, the error occurs as soon as I click either option, quick sign up is instant

maybe check the environment of the system. if it's set wrong, it will error immediately. that includes making a new account.

Environment, meaning that np setting in the debug settings? I already set it to just the letters np (it was that already) with no luck.

Ok time to double check something lol. Go into rebug Toolbox, go to the utilities column and go to the bottom and select change active ps3 id and select use eid5 87 cex then try.

This shouldn't make a difference if you can sign in on the other accounts. it's not being able to access account management when signed in to the others that's bugging me to death as all psn services are running.

If you can sign in on the other accounts then you should be able to make a new one. If not then it might be an idea to try with 4.82.2 REX. But this is still making no sense to me lol.
