PS3 Joysticks use instead of DPAD in PS1 Games using HEN

So, I want a solution to use DUAL SHOCK 3 joysticks instead of DPAD to play arcade games on my PS3 4.85 HFW using HEN 3.0.1. I have tried looking for a solution online or find a respective forum but no luck. If someone ever tried or know anything to make up a solution.
If we cannot do it. Please do let me know.
Any links for further discussions or solutions will be appreciated.

I don't think that's possible. the ps1 didn't even have analog sticks. iirc, if you try using the analog sticks on a ps2 controller with a ps1 game, they will not function.

Thanks for the reply, but I am trying to play Tekken 3 on ps3 but the DPADS are quite difficult to play. I was just wondering if someone might have written any code or script to virtually transfer the DPADS commands to Joystick.

In the PARAM.SFO of the game (using "PS1 classic" format) there is a ANALOG_MODE where you can enable it

The only values availables are 0 or 1

didn't know about that. personally, I'd use an arcade stick if they're available. I saw one for the 360, since that's like the system to get if you like shmup games, but the hori one is around $150 last time I checked.

Yep, that ones are the most precise, and also are designed to handle lot of abuse
What happens is in the others (DPAD or gamepad sticks) we only use the muscles from the thumb finger (and the arm is static)... but in arcade cabinets or arcade sticks we use more muscles from the arm, lol, this is why they makes big noises

I remember to search a bit about people that makes his custom arcade sticks, there is like a subculture about them, with web shops specialized in selling that sticks, buttons etc... are the same quality (or even better) than the arcade cabinets
Is not so hard to build a custom arcade stick with high quality parts, most people does the case with wood + some wires + a tiny controller board

But actually, i guess it can be made with the circuit board of a dualshock

Could someone please help me? I would like to play Diablo 1 on PS3 with the analog sticks. I just don't get it with the hexedit.
I changed the marked to 01 but nothing changed. Could someone explain it, please?
