PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

Thanks to the help I got 2.0.2 installed, but now I have another problem. (1) First of all I was under the impression that the "Hybrid Firmware Tools" menu was not supposed to show up until AFTER HEN was enabled, for me it's showing up right after bootup of the system BEFORE HEN has been enabled. (2) Also, if I try to use the "Soft Reboot" feature I am just taken to a screen that says "Connect the controller using a USB cable, and then press the PS button". I am pretty new to all this, but I am sure that is not the intended result of this feature.

1) That's the normal behaviour.
2) Did you enable HEN before using soft reboot ? (actually, if you did not, it should freeze, not display such message...)

Hi, first of all... guys do you sleep? seriosusly... XDD? Thanks 4 this work.

Second the questions:

What this means:

- RAP activation on the fly, default path : usb000/exdata/<rap> or usb001/exdata/<rap>

We need to put the rap files in this folders and then it get installed automatically???

- PS2 Classics ? This is for converted one's or ***PlayStation Store***?

Thanks

¿the ps2 launcher is a homebrew or is the same ps2 classic method that we used in han with ps2 classic gui?

PS2 Launcher is a Homebrew where you can mount encrypted ISO files and swap them out as needed. No need to make a PKG for each game. The tools to encrypt are in the Ps3tools to do this. Plain ISO files do not work. PS2 Launcher is kinda like a PS2 game manager. There is tons of documents that can describe how this works better then I can here in our forums by using the search function.

[/ QUOTE]

Yeah just put all your RAP/EDAT files on your USB in the exdata folder. After install just launch the newly installed PKG file. If the needed activation file is found HEN will patch the RAP to RIF and launch the game.

After doing some more testing I have discovered that at least 2 other items in the HFW Toolbox menu error out with the same screen as the Soft Reboot option mentioned before. Hard Reboot, and Display applicable version both error out to the "insert controller and press the PS button" screen if HEN is not enabled, Soft Reboot errors out even if I have HEN enabled and there are probably more items that have the same problem but I have not tested them. I have a feeling that if you fix one of them though it will fix all of them, but I am not a Dev so I could be wrong about this. Just reporting the bugs as I experience them.

If HAN is already installed on PS3, I just need to "enable han pkg blind" from ps3xploit and install the pkg to upgrade HEN?
Correct.

It's normal for them not to work without HEN, they should be working with HEN enabled though.

Are you having these issues with HEN enabled? If you are try a file system repair and rebuild database but I tested it throughly and it was all working as intended with HEN enabled on a 3000 series while others tested 4k series

Must have an activated account on ps3 as well. Sign in psn->account management->activation->game

As I said before the "Soft Reboot" option errors out to the "insert controller and press the PS button" screen if HEN is enabled or not, the others only error out to this screen if HEN is not enabled, but according to ShaolinAssassin nothing I do should display this screen and instead should show a error code if I was to understand him correctly. My PS3 is a CECH-4001B if that maters at all.

UPDATE:
So apparently after a about a dozen reboots the "Soft Reboot" option is working as it should with HEN enabled now. I don't know it "fixed" itself, but it's working with HEN enabled now at least. The only problem left is with the error page that it takes you to if HEN is not enabled. Again, I was under the impression that it was supposed to dispaly an error code if HEN was not enabled if you tried to run one of those commands, but this is not happening for me. Any ideas?

UPDATE 2:
After a little more tinkering I discovered that the problem seems to be that sometimes HEN does not get enabled even though it appears to have done so using the Enable HEN option in the XMB. The real problem seems to be there is no "HEN Enabled" check (or at least I don't think there is) that takes place when using the Enable HEN option from the XMB. A good way to know for sure would be to show a notification that HEN was indeed enabled and working correctly when enabling HEN like Webman mod does after HEN is enabled. Just a thought
