My suggestion is to change the icon because it is different form the others folder icons. It is a white folder icon. Take a look at this icon when you start your console.

I just removed app_home from my XMB altogether via XML edit. Never had a use for it and find it to be rather an eye sore.

Yeah I do that sometimes, using HEN on HFW makes me think I'm always on CFW sometimes as I always have been on other units that are on CFW..

I guess a good solution would be to put some warnings in big capital letters, if it's possible, like "ONLY WITH HEN ENABLED TOOLS"... Then the users would always be reminded to enable hen.

For PS3HEN users that have the startup notification enabled, I updated webMAN MOD to load faster... it doesn't wait the 10 seconds needed by the plugin when the system boots.

The updated plugin is included in the latest beta available in:
https://github.com/aldostools/MAMBA_PRX_Loader/tree/master/PS3HEN_2.0.x

(it also includes the latest features developed by Habib)

But I have a question, I have no interest in the HFW tools since I see that it presents some problems and personally I will not use it, the only thing I want is to update my hen without the new tools, so I should only replace the new one PS3HEN.bin and the new strackframe on the previous one (v2.0) and ready?
With that would have the new compatibility for the PS2 Classic and the stability improvements of 2.0.2?

well anything that makes your ps3 unusable considered brick regardless if its recoverable or not, this is why theres two types of brick soft and hard.

Being kicked to recovery is NOT a brick, no where near it. Stop with the FUD.

It's not an issue. Don't use hen stuff without enabling hen, it's quite simple. The guy talking about bricks does not know what he is talking about..

put all your packages in root of Usb ,go to package manager/install/standard highlight triangle then click install all packages

I agree. @remlei any software listed here should be used as intented and as instructed. You are ofc free to conduct your own experiments, you are free to share the results of your experiments, but you cannot blame the people who made said software for your mistakes. If you believe that this software is more dangerous than what the OP says, you are free to not do it.

Exactly.

There is no risk of a brick. I have been kicked to recovery thousands of times during testing of various mods.. Never once have I had even a soft brick due to that and I know of no developer who has a brick due to being kicked to recovery.

It's not even a hard crash/freeze, it is the console doing exactly what it is meant to do in that scenario, it is finding a file it does not like, and its programmed to enter recovery if that happens. Then as the proper shutdown flag was not written, it is doing exactly what its meant to do on start up too.

If someone really has an issue with HFW tools and does not want any of those features, then edit your xmls to remove it, but any FUD about it bricking consoles is BS.
