PS3HEN PS3HEN - Official Release Thread (Homebrew Enabler for the PS3) v3.5.0 (4.93 support)

It's your PS3 or your setup. Reformat that piece of crap and install HFW again.

It works, STOP blaming HEN because you can't follow directions.

All of us don't spend most of our days developing and testing for shits and giggles! We use it and it works as intended.

Yes u are right. HEN work great and sure he didnt follow steps. and i work on hen v2.1.1 and i didnt face any problem . So should he format his system and reinstall hfw and follow steps to solve problem.

I just want to flag it as a possible bug. After updating to 2.1.0(SS console) I was watching smth on Netflix without enabling HEN. After 10-15 minutes into the series I've got a warning message for overheating (I've never experienced such thing for the past 5 years)

I did switch to my HEN acc, enabled HEN, so the fan kicked in. Since then all works fine again without enabling HEN.

My guess is is something got messed up during the update?

Regards,
My guess is that it has to do with the fan control that is automatically set instead of being optional. And because we lack the correct configs for the fan plugin, it leads to a fixed low speed, overheating on long/intensive tasks.

You need to disable the "manual" fan control and give back control to the system.

To do this you need to enter webMAN Setup (opens in the ps3's browser).
I was getting errors using the default Hen version (setup page wouldn't open, blank with text for error). I even tried reinstalling my HFW (twice), then installing Han-Hen to make sure my install wasn't bad.

So I installed the full webMAN mod, which allowed me to access the setup page.

The 2nd section has toggles for the fan, make sure to select SYSCON and you must SAVE using the option at the bottom.

Now my fan works as always, haven't had any problems, and I prefer it "loud" than being afraid of it overheating. (while idle, fan stays at 60% and CPU at 59°C, default, SYSCON).

I'm experiencing freezes after install psnpatch plugin to webMan mod (1.17.20). It occurs right after enable HEN. Do someone knows how to remove the psnpatch plugin?

Edit: I'm on HEN 2.1.1

place a new boot_plugins.txt on USB that only has webMAN, then remove the plugin manually from where it's placed in. also edit your boot_plugins.txt from dev_hdd0 to stop loading it.

What do I have to put inside the boot_plugins.txt?

I have a game called Fighting Edition which contains Tekken 6, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Soul Calibur 5.
I can't figure out how to backup, if I use Multiman it only detects Tekken 6.

I actually have the feeling that the system retains the fan speed by the time of previous shutdown. Yesterday the moment I turned my PS on, the fan starter working as steady ~35%. When I did enable HEN, the fan went back to dynamic mode.

I actually haven't played around with webman mod settings, since I am using hen only for retroarch and nothing else. I will try to use the syscon option and see how it works :)
