So, for today, the best way to play arcade games on ps3 is retroarch or looking some mystic mame version?

By the way, wanted get latest retroarch, went to the site\download - section for ps3 "coming soon" 0_o (I guess it's been a long time)

Use RetroArch CE by Crystal

Stop - again.... Which core fore which game?

wwfmania - umk3 - fba(2012)\mame 2003 - black screen, freeze, reboot

kinst 1\2 (rom+chd) - not clear at all???



(tired to walk from one corner of room to another to reboot console)

UMK3 and WrestleMania use MAME 2003 Plus. Forget about the Killer Instincts, gameplay is far too slow to be playable.
 
You know, i no idea how explain it, but both of them (wwfmania\umk3) show 53.16fps, but on PC mame version it plays faster....

The brewology link i gave has 0.142 in the latest release tab
and then the 0.125 in the previous tab..

But they are actually two different mame emulators by different devs.
Then 0.125 has this custom front end.

I can confirm mk2 and mk3/umk3 roms don't work/boot on the 0.142 build i just got.

Going to try 0.125 now.

It is a shame, because 2003-plus is supposed to fix the shadows glitch.
It does fix them on Android and PC, i wonder why it hasn't fixed them on PS3.
Could the PS3 version of plus, be incomplete?

0.142 port by RoboHobo was the first ever MAME project ported to the ps3 and was an ealier ps3 homebrew, but it does play some games well, but i do not think it ever supported those midways games . The mame 0.142 was sort of a partial port and does not support the entire 0.142 mame romset.

There is the mame 0.37b5 (mame2000) and then mame 0.78 (mame 2003) from RetroArch as you know .. i believe both support the midway games.

I am not sure about 0.125 port by Ole, but worth trying

Then FB Retro Loader is worth trying to as it does have some modified MAME cores from libretro if not mistaken. I am fairly sure that plays the MK games.
 
We're able to play the MK games on the 2003/plus versions but, no shadows.
Plus was supposed to fix that. I wonder if the current plus version can be updated or fixed since the shadow glitch is supposed to work.
I've been trying to get MK2/MK3 to work with shadows on my PS3 ever since we could install CFW.
