PS3Xploit Team has unveiled the latest progression in the form of an experimental Tool (Debug Settings Installer + Debug/XMB Swappers) for PS3Xploit v3 HAN user's (tools compatible with CFW also), with the release of REBUG REX that means a 4.82 DEX Firmware is out in the wild and that means with 4.82 DEX files, PS3 HAN user's will not have some added features and was one of the reasons why developer HABIB was suggesting user's stay on 4.81 for use of these DEX features as the status was unknown if a public 4.82 DEX would emerge, but with REBUG REX CFW release, the various files for swapping can be done, but devs will lend more details about that throughout this thread.

     4.84 HFW: Download Debug Settings Installer ZIP archive
  2. Extract the files
  
  to install DEX files + VSH: use files from INSTALL folder and run debug_settings_installer.html
  
  to install CEX files + VSH: use files from RESTORE folder and run debug_settings_installer.html
  
  Main Installation:
  
  • Place all files matching your FW version and desired target [CEX/DEX] on USB flash drive or select one of the internal HDD options**

I'm sorry but I'm very confused. I currently run on a super slim ps3 with han. If I run Han Toolbox>Han Functions>Debug Package Enabler, does anything else need to be installed for the debug package enabler function to work properly? Or will it work fine as is from HAN toolbox? Is there anyway to check if the debug packager has been enabled or not? I'm not really looking to use the debug settings function just the package installer. Thanks!

To enable debug pkgs you just click on it, then until you reboot you will be able to install unsigned pkgs aka debug pkgs. There will be no visual difference, just use package manager to install the debug pkgs.

btw, that option has nothing to do with this thread which is about Debug settings. Just so you know.

Definitely not.
This is only to get access to the Debug Settings menu on ps3, it does not install a debug kernel!

To debug applications, you need either a specific debug console or a retail console on CFW.

Hello master, maybe I misunderstood, I tried 2 PS3 HAN, I still had to enable HAN to install HAN pkg and play the game HAN resigner (rif).
And every time "Quit game" always enters safe mode, ask to reinstall the firmware.

You need to mention if it happens only with one game... or with all games

i am on 4.82 and i copied the files from the "482-COPY-TO-USB" folder to my flash drive.

i ran the installer and it rebooted ok

the game i tried was "game here"

also something not mentioned is what files are being used for sysconf_plugin.sprx and xmb_plugin.sprx? or just using ones from install folder and not changed them

All of the game i tried can not quit normaly.
After quit the game, always ask to reinstall the firmware.

Not sure if this was intended but the "sysconf_plugin.rco" file isn't restored back to the original when reverting back to CEX. The file has been replaced by "system_plugin.rco" which isn't present within the installation files.
