I think due to the way all games work by looking to the hdd for every file first, and all the current installs out there, they cant really patch the backup injection method without changing the entire system and breaking current installs/game updates. I suppose it would be possible to patch, but complicated, not worth it this late in the consoles life.
Backup injection is ok, but you have to format every time to load new games, so its not very user friendly. Also it will only work for some disk PS3 based games, and no pkg based games, no ps1, no ps2, no psn. So its fairly limited.
I have bomberman ultra which c00 psn game that i backed it up from cfw ps3. And I wand to install on ofw 4.84 ps3. The game comes with edat file. I don't know how to use it with ps3Xport. Btw, I swear I purchased the full game.
For C00 games, you need to convert the EDAT license to Free. Then just inject the game with the resigned license like you normally would, and it will work.
I see. Interesting stuff. Yeah its a great hack, I was more thinking if you had the choice of using HAN then its limited, but really it is amazing that we can this type of thing in 2019.Sony can very easily patch it by not allowing custom signed EDAT files to be restored through backups, which is what they tried to do on 4.75. The only reason this works now is because I found a way around that, but Sony doesn't really seem to care anymore, with good reason.
I doubt they would fix the actual NPDRM game conversions because some official games use this format, and they would no longer work if Sony decided to do something to block it.
There are actually quite a lot of games that work with this method, but I do agree that it's still a very cumbersome process that takes a lot of time. Still, it's currently the only way to play backups past 4.82 on OFW.
Dear @Imn7,
I have a question. Is there any possibility of adding a DLC Injector Feature in your PS3XPORT TOOL?
Sir,It's not necessary, the PS3Xport binary by Kakaroto allows you to inject any files you like to /dev_hdd0/ and /dev_flash2/, hence the folder structure of the injection directory. You need to "fix" the DLC EDAT files and inject them like I said before.
Sir,
Can u tell me How can i fix DLC EDAT files. Is there any forum about it?
I am a beginner![]()
No,I am not seeking piracy.I just want to know how to know how to fix DLCS EDAT.I am not saying to download them.I'm not sure if you actually own the content so I guess this is kinda piracy related, against the rules of the forum. I would suggest using Google to find what you are looking for, there are tutorials that explain it much better than I can, but if you don't own the content I can't help you, sorry.
