PS3 PS3Xport Tool - Inject backups on 4.83/4.84 OFW

So me and my son wanted to play Minecraft together. I made a backup of my disc and plan to inject it on his OFW super slim.

Cfw2ofw works great, the game is compatible and I have a clean backup of his PS3.

When injecting the game it reaches 43% then throws a message "operation failed".

I don't want to install HAN/HEN on it as we also use it for Netflix, so I want the online access to be safe.

Is there any way to make injection work?
Backup injection isn't practical anymore. Just use HEN or even HAN, much faster and more convenient than this method. If you're committed to using this though then try injecting using the command line instead of the GUI, should give you more info on the error.

Well, I don't want to use HAN/HEN as we use it to watch Netflix.

Tried another USB drive and it seems to be successful.

Restoring backup as of writing, and will see f it worked.

Thank you

Well it tells me the game can't be loaded. That's a bummer as it's listed as compatible in the wiki.

You may have converted it incorrectly. Also, HAN/HEN are temporary memory hacks so you could have just used either one to install the game and remove it afterwards. Trust me, it's faster.

I'll Read up on that then. Thank you

Also if Netflix is your only worry, the are "No-PSN" versions afaik that will run without PSN login. I don't use it on PS3 so not sure if there are any downsides but there are upsides, Quicker to get into the app, and PSN outages wont effect you as long as the netflix servers are up it will still work.

@lmn7
I found a wired problem.
All C00 games remain the demo PIC1.PNG and PARAM.SFO, but they play as full game.
Is there anything wrong in the restore process?

You need to change those files manually. When you download the full license officially from PSN, the full PARAM.SFO and icons are probably included in the PKG. They may also be in the C00 folder, I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've used this method.

yeah, both on the root and in the c00 folder is a PARAM.SFO, ICON0.PNG, etc. if you want to change these, you'll need to do those in the C00 folder. that's what I used to alphabetize things, since lowercase and uppercase are considered different letters where one or the other will appear after z.

I've injected hundreds times of C00 games and if there are edat lic files in the exdata folder, the PARAM.SFO and PIC1 file in the C00 folder will be shown instead of the root ones.
But this method does not do that. Maybe I will have time to flash the console to CFW and have a look into the files.

both sonic 4 episodes are c00 games, I believe, so you can check those. I just remembered them when I was looking at my games.

The only difference between this and other methods is that it utilizes a bug to bypass the EDAT check during the restore process. The end result is no different to transferring the file using FTP or other means. So, I don't know what causes the problem but I doubt it's related to this method.

I have error 800100006 starting games, I did an initial backup (10games) before injecting games (+9); -According to what I read, I should have done the injection from an empty backup copy and added more games in that copy, right? -Also @ lmn7 talks about an update to correct this for backup licenses (.edat). -This update already exists or it can be done manually (how is it done?); to solve that error 800100006 or definitely I already lost those games that were in the initial backup (10).

I'm trying to restore my backup, but i/m getting a " The restore operation could not be completed. The system will restart " sometimes at 99% accompanied by error 800283E7, sometimes lower with 800283EC . I'm using a 32GB stick . Is there a recommended cluster size for it ? Is it better to user 4k or 64k for restoring a backup ? Or is the stick just faulty ? Any recommendations how to format it ? I have a program called HPUSBTool which i used for PS2 stuff ..

Honestly, it's been so long since I touched any of this stuff I don't have any answers for you. Sounds like your backup got corrupted, whether that's a result of the injection process or the USB I don't know. But I don't think anybody should be using these tools anymore.
