PS4 3.50 Webkit exploit demo

so.. we should hold on updating, or is it pointless if your on 3.50?
For the moment, if you are on 1.76 & decide to update your ps4 to 3.5x, you will lose not only the ability to run Linux & brew but also all existing jailbreak opportunities.

It's impossible to say whether this situation will change in the future so updating the PS4 in the hope that exploits will be found on 3.5x would currently be a gamble.

Note that downgrading fw on the PS4 is NOT possible as well so you cannot change your mind later...

Whatever you decide to do, choose wisely! [emoji6]

I might go legit with the ps4 with no hacking, but I'm really not sure. I have ps+ for the free games, so remaining on 3.50 would mean the vita was the only system getting new games. I have no more space on the ps3 aside from storing vita games to transfer to my vita. I would like to test out linux on the ps4, but if there's a problem with playing newer games, it might not be worth it. I don't have a second ps4 anymore (sold it), but that darth vader bundle with 3.10 firmware. not sure which firmware is on the star ocean 5 disc, since I preordered the game last week. right now, all I have, game-wise, for the ps4 is tales of zestiria, final fantasy x hd, trials fusion, and final fantasy vii aside from the free ps+ games. :p

We all face this difficult choice @pinky as nobody can tell if & when new exploits will be made available.
I must admit that right now, unless you are a dev, a jailbroken 1.76 ps4 doesn't have very much to offer. Linux is jerky as @atreyu187 mentioned, installing pkg is still a problem, there's hardly any brew available & playing backups is not possible.
However it's only been 6 months since CTurt & f0f released their findings! It's still far too early in the game to judge & it should keep getting better with time.

It's true that having a ps4 you cannot use properly, fewer features, new games that can't be played & no online gaming, is a real pain. The temptation to update is great obviously...

Of course the luckiest among us might have 2 consoles, one kept on 1.76 & the other one updated for new games & PSN access. It is far from ideal of course but...

I'll probably just keep my system updated. then, buy a 1.76 system at some point. I didn't play my ps3 much (only beat one game in four or five years), but I'd like to start playing games again on the ps4 (love the psx/ps2 games with trophies like final fantasy vii). right now, I mostly game on the wii-u since I love platformers. ;)

I was lucky enough to find a TLOU bundle at a local store with 1.76 and aside from instaling the exploit I haven't touched it.
