I think I may have solved the issue regarding pkg files. the pkg files that don't work are looking for A0100V0100 while the game pkgs might have a different V0100 (version?). apparently, adding to this number means that its a game with an update added to it. I guess this is to prevent the user from having to download all these updates. it's either a bug with gengp4 or orbis. I'm thinking it's gengp4 though considering that it contains this which isn't part of the content id. I'm not sure where it's deriving this number from. anyway, a way around that I found was to rename the pkg. I'm not entire sure if this works though, so I'm keeping a copy of just the renamed pkg, a copy of the name changed in the gengp4, a copy repacked with duxa repacker, and a copy of the game and update combined pkg.
also, I discovered something with saves. it would appear that certain saves become corrupted if you transfer over just the save. I had this problem earlier today. what I did to fix it was transfer over the savedata folder, the savedata_meta folder, and everything in the system_data folder. now, all saves work.
