PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

1) Don't mix Sen Enabler and psnPatch disable cfw functions. Best way is use 4.75 and ONE of mentioned enablers. Sen Enabler have additional spoof function to 4.75, psnPatch lack of spoofer but like kokotonix said most safe is to use current fw than spoof. Anyway psnpatch can be used with external spoof until you don't use external cfw syscalls blocking.

2) For now only "deep" tested 4.75 cfw with cobra is habib beta v3 or v4. And yes, you can use cobra cfw. There is no sign that $ony look for cobra files from 4.46 to 4.75. So is safe until you use good Syscall disabler.

3) Lite version from kokotonix is probably most compatibile version, but this don't mean that other versions are not safe, etc. Just don't use disabling syscall, etc. functionality in webman, and all should be ok.

Edit:I write this post almost 5 minutes...

gDrive

so spoofed backup manager is ok but not fw spoofer? The backup manager spoofer will still work even after homebrew is disabled by psn patch (I take it the CFW syscalls doesnt mess with the backup manager spoofer?)
What do you mean by "standard" cfw, like without cobra & non-rebug?

1) I didn't realize sen enabler and psn patch served the same function(s) as I've done zero research on sen enabler but have heard of it.

kokotonix & gDrive

2) okay, I just like using Rebug as that's what I'm used to and this makes sense being spoofers don't exist on OFW. So what 4.75 Cobra CFW would you guys recommend then? Or should I get it without Cobra (even though I love cobra and prefer it) is Cobra just as safe with the stealth 3 extensions than without having Cobra?

3) So webman is generally a bad idea right, unless I use the light version included?

kokotonix

I read about the psn patch plugin and how it prevents one from logging on to psn with out the cfw syscalls being disabled. But the way i got banned is that my internet was simply enabled on my ps3 and I wasn't signed into PSN at all. I think Sony still had access if your internet is enabled even without being signed in because of the ads they send to the XMB and text scrolling at top right. So iwould think that havingthe patch instead disable internet entirely (rather than just PSN) would be a better idea but i'm just throwing things out there.

Thanks mates

1. PSN/SEN Safety Apps
Yes, SEN Enabler and PSNpatch do the same thing so use ONE of them only!

2. Firmware Spoofs & Spoofed Applications
a. Firmware spoofers can easily be detected by Sony via the certificate files found in the flash memory - if they see one modified certificate file, then you're gonna be in Sony's crossfire for a tasty banhammer!
b. Spoofed applications only get logged as a legitimate game if you choose a legitimate game ID, and that can be easily done with the use of Homebrew Stealthing Utility 1.4 and Aldo's PS3 Tools, which can be found here:

https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...49&authkey=!ANIxc2enwiWHCR8&ithint=folder,zip

3. webMAN
Yes, webMAN is a bad idea as XMB mods can be detected by Sony if I recall correctly, and not only that, webMAN also saves some webMAN-specific files onto the PS3's HDD as well, which can also be detected by Sony - hence it is bad practice to have custom firmware-exclusive folders, especially when it is on the root directory of the PS3's HDD.

Allow me some additional comments:

1. PSN/SEN Safety Apps
Yes, SEN Enabler and PSNpatch do the same thing so use ONE of them only!

Not exactly.
Both tools have some common but also many different functions.

PSNPATCH has many nice functions:
- firmware version independent,
- stealth extensions for complete and perfect CFW syscalls disabling,
- PSN lock at boot while CFW syscalls are running,
- IDPS and PSID auto spoofing at boot time,
- execution history cleaning,
- ps2 classics unlock,
- c00 unlock,
- RIF signing,
- EDAT importing,
- games version patching,
- easy install and remove plugins,
- specific PSNPatch plugin (one of the first to be ever launched in the scene),
- plugins handler for NON-COBRA and NON-MAMBA systems,
- every single function is FIRMWARE VERSION INDEPENDENT,
- etc etc etc ...

But it DELIBERATELY lacks some functions like version spoofing (as KW defends it should NEVER be used - read bellow why) and XMB cleaning (that KW think it is Unnecessary).

Choose according to your needs by carefully reading the release notes and docs.

2. Firmware Spoofs & Spoofed Applications
a. Firmware spoofers can easily be detected by Sony via the certificate files found in the flash memory - if they see one modified certificate file, then you're gonna be in Sony's crossfire for a tasty banhammer!
b. Spoofed applications only get logged as a legitimate game if you choose a legitimate game ID, and that can be easily done with the use of Homebrew Stealthing Utility 1.4 and Aldo's PS3 Tools,..

If a certain transaction asks for a certain certificate and it fails several times, PSN will probably assume that the file system was tempered(without ever needing to inspect it) and you must be running a modified system.
Let's ban !
:)

HDD contents should not be considered in the equation.
Let's assume he following scenario:
Someone has a CFW running in his PS3 and decides to go into a OFW.
If he doesn't format the PS3 hdd, all the CFW games and tools will remain in the HDD - even if not working anymore - and the system will be legitimate.

So webman is okay then kokotonix? I just want to use cobra/webman because I have several games 4gb+ file games that are FAT32 4GB+ splitted iso and I only know hot to run them via webman. I'm guessing you can run split 4gb+ iso files from multiMAN (or other backup manager) with Cobra just never have done it before.
EDIT:
Oh wait i keep forgetting you recommend "your" lite version of webman so thats must be okay or you wouldnt recommend it, right?
Basically all I need is Cobra as long as I can run 4GB+ splitted iso games from multiMAN or another backup manager then I'm good. I've launched isos from multiMAN a very long time ago but that was for DEX.

I don't understand your question.
If it weren't ok, why would it be included in psnpatch package ???

About webman usage, ISO and so forth, please use a specific thread.

The version included is not mandatory. Just a simpler version which responds to the basic (Mounting needs without the extra functions. ) - in fact it is included to have a simpler and more user friendly webman installation.

Other webman versions can be used, just make sure you are not using functions conflicting with psnpatch.

I know it's not mandatory, by okay I meant is it safe to use webman on PSN (will Sony be able to see it) then I remembered your lite version of webman. thanks for the help.

Hi All

Quick question... read the read me numerous times for this but I am a new PSNPatch user. When I run it, It confirms CFW calls are disabled. But I get a message asking me to do a firmware update when logging into PSN. I obviously should NOT do that update :).

Oh , I'm using latest PSNPatch and REBUG.

Any words of wisdom to help me get online?

Thanks

Psnpatch do not make spoof, so, everytime you go online psn tells to you that you need update your ps3.

Update your cfw and use psnpatch to disable syscall's and enjoy online

I am running REBUG 4.70.1 REX EDITION, can't really update anymore :)

When I push X in PSNPatch I hear a beep .. PS goes back to XMB .. If I get into PSNPatch again I see a message telling me CFW calls are disabled...

cfw syscalls disable doesnt mean that your cfw is spoofed... it means that some code is disable to make it "clean" to go online and dont be detected... you have a rebug spoof released by the team that made that cfw, but only can be used on "normal" mode, anyway, i dont recomend go online with a spoofed cfw, it is always better have the latest cfw.

I've a FAT 160gb with rebug 4.70 w/cobra enabled and a slim 250gb with cfw 4.75 habib cfw with mamba to go online

If you don't want to update to 4.75 because you want to keep Rebug features then you have to spoof to connect to PSN. Spoof potentially with SEN Enabler or Rebug spoofer, once done then mount your disc & finally use PSNPatch before going online & playing.
Obviously many people are convinced there are added risks with spoofing & they could very well be right but that is the price to pay if you cannot wait for Rebug 4.75 or update temporarily to Habib 4.75.

To be safer you could also try spoofing with SEN but using another set of psid, idps & mac coming from a dead console (all you need is a dump of that console).
If you don't want to risk your main PSN account, you could use a new PSN login at the very least temporarily to try.
I believe this setup to be pretty safe but who can say for sure?

You only have 2 choices anyway. Spoof or update.
Good luck.

I thought I posted this already guess I forgot I used the PSN plugin and it wouldn't even let me connect my internet, even after I disabled CFW. I however didn't use :x: (which everyone else seems to use) I used :/\: because I don't need IDPS and PSID spoofing because I use CCAPI 2.60v5 for that (I assume if I did it would spoof my IDPS to 00000000000000000000000000000000 or whatever since I haven't put any numbers into it). Anyway, once I uninstalled the plugin my internet was back to normal. (For testing purposes i didn't mess with the internet settings at all except to try and connect.)

PS I've changed my CFW since last talking to you it's now HABIB 4.75 COBRA (was Rebug 4.70) I don't really care about this issue being I still don't have a working CID but thought you should know as i thought it may be a possible BUG

No bug at that level.
Try following the instructions to configure a new IDPS & PSID.
also make sure you are using valid IDs or PSNPATCH will not accept them.

Finally, and as I've said hundreds of times, use the plugin.
Use the plugin.
Use the plugin
Use the plugin.

And when you want to spoof IDs and disable syscalls,
Use the plugin
- just press the combo keys in XMB until you see the messages on screen.

This will also unload the plugin from memory release some more space.

Edit: if you install the plugin you Must keep the psnpatch app installed.

Do I have to use the spoofer for PSN patch plugin to work properly? Because I really don't want to spoof an IDPS when I can put it in permanently via CCAPI. Unless you can use PSN patch to put in IDPS permanently, but the very definition of a spoofer IS NOT permanent. Perhaps you were responding to all the other people, otherwise I have no idea how this relates to my internet not wanting to connect ONLY when the plugin is loaded. I guess I'll do

Even though I prefer not to use the spoofer for the previous reasons I mentioned. As I said no big deal, my cid was banned long ago so working on getting a working one.

If you don't want to spoof, don't configure those options.
If they are as 0 they will be ignored.

You can connect to the psn only if you have the most recent firmware version.
Psnpatch plugin locks the psn access for safety until you disable cfw syscalls.

Does psnpatch stealth extension (is plugin? right? ) is compatibile with Cobra 7.02 firmwares? In my case i mean Darknet 4.70 (cobra 7.02) http://www.psx-place.com/forum/ps3-...70-cobra-builds-v7-02-7-03-released-1491.html

Darknet changelog clearly states that is incompatible, but PSN patch is firmware independent. How about plugin? All i want to know, can i safely use PSN patch plugin with Darknet 7.02 or i should install 7.03 version (ps. i know is better 4.75)

Ok well I'm just telling you what happened to me. I'm on the most recent 4.75 CFW and was able to connect to the internet, then enabled PSN patch plugin via :select:, then the :dpad-up: in the psn patch app to install plugin. PSN patch plugin showed it was running on the top right of the screen at reboot. Ran PSN patch program and disabled CFW via :/\: (no spoofer), reboot. Try to log into PSN and it said internet wouldn't connect (i'll have to do it again to see the exact error message, it was a message not a code) I uninstalled the plugin, reboot and internet works.

I know what the plugin is for, I know i have to have the latest FW version. You did manage to answer one question I actually asked that the spoofer will be ignored and doesnt need to be configured to use the plugin. Anyway, I will figure it out myself as this seems a waste of both of our time if you're just going to tell me things I've already read in the "readme" and have tried. Maybe its a language barrier, IDK. Thanks for your time and thanks for the program.

I will however post the error message when I reproduce it ,if it happens again and if I remember :)

... If you installed plugin just mount game, push L3 R3 and L2 at the same time. And that is all. This combo unlock internet for you. No need to use psnpatch app anymore if plugin is installed. But remember if you want change game, reset console first and then mount game and push combo.

Plugin is for more safety - Don't access to psn until you are ready (combo)
Plugin is for speed up "enabling process" - Don't need go to any app, just use combo in XMB.

And from first site:

= "ALL IN ONE":

Press CROSS to do a "ALL IN ONE": Spoof idps and psid, disable cfw syscalls and delete execution history.
(1 beep will inform of the success disabling cfw).
You can even start psnpatch and keep X pressed until you ear the beep, bypassing the user interface and back to XMB !

NOTE:
If you are using the PsnPatch plug-in, just press L3+R3+R2 from the XMB.
An on-scree message will report the success and mode used for it.
No need to call PSNPatch application !

Cool, perhaps the problem was using the program to disable CFW when I needed to use the plugin itself to disable CFW, I would think either should work but that would actually make sense if that's the case.

EDIT:

I wanna think someone special for getting me back on!!! if anybody has tips for playing games online to stay safe like games to avoid (COD, GTA) and other things like not getting online with games and DLC etc letme know or send me links! Also should i put all my ps3 updates folders back into my games to make them closer 1:1 i plan on it just going to be time consuming. And i guess ill try and avoid webman mounted games online and having it running in the background and ill use multiman if thats the safest. thanks again someone special you're my hero!
