PS3 PSNpatch - Releases / Usage Information (Official Support Thread)

Just a quick one, For about a year I have always used sen enabler to delete history, Then pressing X in PsnPatch (all in one) before going online (without any issues).
After having a look here about the spoofing in psnpatch I wanted to check if im actually spoofed or not?
If not ive been very lucky and need help sorting psnpatch out to make sure im using it correctly..
Thanks in advance

If your're speaking about spoofing IDPS and PSID, the algorithm works quite well - just go into psnpatch app and confirm the ID that appear.
Well, it works if you have properly configured psnpatch for the new IDPS and PSID.
For daily usage I strongly suggest you to use psnpatch plugin instead of the app, as it provides some additional functions as locking psn access on boot and also auto idps and psid spoofing on boot.

Additionally, take in mind that psnpatch also deletes usage history, so there's no need to use other tools.

All that it does and how to use it, it's properly detailed in the documentation provided with psnpatch official distribution, here at psx-place.

The problem is, a friend installed this on my ps3 and just said press x and your good to go, I never looked up on it really.
Am I ok to just press CROSS to do a "ALL IN ONE or do I need to the edit the PSNPATCH.cfg file?
it says Don't try to generate an ID by yourself so what do I do?
Im sure my id stays as zeros after I do an all in one so not sure if I have been covered for the last year or so.
And playing most games online on a daily basis how have I not been banned if that's the main problem with using cfw?
I have become very paranoid and just wanted to work out what to do.

I am ready through all the stuff but its just going over my head, sorry.

If you are seeing all 0's, you are NOT spoofed.
You must get valid alternative IDPS and PSID's to spoof properly).

Note that you are still protected if you disable CFW. But The best approach is to also spoof IDPS and PSID. Note that if you do that you have to resign all RIFS.

Again, all this is in the docs.
Please read them.
Avoid placing questions already answered in the docs. They took a lot of time to write to avoid answering all the same questions over and over again.

Ok.
First of all you should choose between SEN Enabler & psnpatch, no point using both here.
If psnpatch already proves a challenge for you I don't advise you to use SEN until you are sure to understand everything.

All in one is to carry out all the psnpatch actions including delete history/disable syscalls... However if there are no ids given to psnpatch for spoofing, it will not spoof any!
If you want to automate ids spoofing with psnpatch, you can edit the cfg file to configure the ids you want then install the psnpatch plugin (manually or via the app).

On boot the ids will be applied by the plugin.
Extra information from the plugin will be displayed as a pop-up on startup as well.

Remember you need a valid set of ids (psid/idps) taken from another console otherwise it won't work. You cannot create ids from scratch.

Is psnpatch the only brew you have problems with? Have you tried others? Backup managers, any other brew you can try, games...
What cfw & setup are you running?
Anything is possible but somehow I doubt that psnpatch itself is the culprit here, if it was working fine yesterday something else must have happened since then...

PS3 Slim D-REX (DEX) Spoof to 4.78
----------------------------------------------------
Other Tools works fine, without PSN Patch -.-
Are you using the plugin as well or just the app?
If just the app, can you try how the plugin fares?
(am curious btw, you said spoofed to 4.78, how did you spoof? With SEN Enabler?).

Hey it says in the notes that psn patch is not for REBUG-COBRA, so can I not use psn patch if im on rebug with cobra enabled ?

And does psn patch have some sort of advantage than using webman to disable syscals and delete history?

Release note said:
IN REBUG-COBRA the user should activate "System Mode: REBUG" in REBUG TOOLBOX for proper compatibility.

Yes, disabling syscall is working in different way than in other tools, this way should be more safe ,better. And if you decide to use plugin then is a big advantage (for me) that psn access is locked when ps3 start, then you can do everything you need. And after that just push L3+R3+R2 shortcut in XMB and you can go online.

Also psnpatch plugin have additional compatibility layer for rebug cobra systems. So is totally for Rebug cobra. Just remember first line of this post.

Okay ive managed to get the PSN patch plugin installed but when I use the shortcut, webman mod unloads, but I spoof my idps and psid at boot with webman mod, so will my idps and psid unspoof when webman mod unloads?

Yes.
Webman and Psnpatch plugins are both unloaded for safety - remove everything from memory that could be traced.
If you want to keep webman running (even if it would no be able to switch mounted game until the next reboot) you can change its configuration in the setup page

okay so i should spoof my idps and psid with psnpatch instead of webman and also does the psn patch plugin spoof the idps and the psid or just the idps as when i press the plug in shortcut buttons it only says spoofed idps.

Webman is also good for the dynamic fan control.

Psnpatch does it all.
Please read the docs.
It is ALL there !

yes i know but what im asking is will the dynamic fan control stop working if webman is unloaded. (Sorry for being annoying dude, your a massive help)
Strictly speaking, as soon as as you stop (not unload even though for a user there's no visible difference) the webMAN-MOD plugin, dynamic fan control will stop & static ps2 fan control is set.
Choose the ps2 temperature according to your requirements in webMAN-MOD setup page.

okay so i would have to get a hardware fan controller to control me fan speeds then.

Also do you think i should use webman mod to disable syscals and delete history or psn patch in your preference?

I like to keep webman running after syscalls are disabled to be able to still display the temperature, control the fan and keep the shutdown key combo.

I prefer to use psnpatch to auto lock psn access, disable syscalls, delete history, spoof psid, spoof idps, and all the other things it does.
