question regarding PS3 whit non working wifi or bluetooth

I have a ps3 that has a non working wifi and bluetooth module can it be mod whit HFW? last time I had to mod a ps3 whit hardware problem it was stuck on a update loop because the BD drive was disconnect but I know that both modules are soldered to the motherboard. Will the update fail and be stuck on a loop or it is not work the risk of modding it?
thanks for the help

the system will try to install bt/bd firmware when you update. that's a upl.xml edit and 6 iirc patches to lv1 and 2. if it was only the upl.xml, then it would probably be possible.

edit: here's what a normal upl.xml looks like: https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/UPL.xml

the BD/BT parts are removed from it. I don't believe hen can do anything about lv1.

soo as long the BD drive is funcional it wont be stuck on a update loop. the ps3 I had mention is already hack after I connected the BD drive in a proper manner since the cables had pop out of the motherboard the drive logical board was funcional but the disk mecanist was not working.
thanks for the help

you might get black screens when launching apps if the update goes through (assuming something is wrong with them).

last time I tested that particular ps3 It was working properly regarding apps and multiman it does have issue whit the games that need a BD disk in the drive at least my friend didnt report any issue whit apps for now. But he now gave now a ps3 that has both the bluetooth and wifi module damage I will see how it react to the updat eand report back
