PS3 Rebug w/Atelier Games

I have been unable to play most of the Atelier series of games for the PS3 using Rebug REX. Each game requires some data to be installed onto the internal HDD, but each fails when trying to install this data. The games work fine on a non-CFW machine. Does anyone know how to fix this issue or do the Rebug coders even work on compatibility issues?

Did you test this game on non-REBUG CFW? and non-COBRA as well?

I was testing Sophie's Atelier earlier and I noticed that the version 1.00 kept kicking back to XMB, then again I updated the game to 1.05 version, and now it installs fine.

@cots When you report issues like this , you need to specify your environment carefully

1. at least an accurate title ID for the game you try
2. CFW version, Cobra version, backup manager

You can't just report your issue as "Rebug game with Atelier" because there are at least 16 different versions of REBUG as well as Cobra version 7.03 to 7.55 and you obviously haven't tested them all.

Okay, I will try updating before installing and see if that fixes the issues. Sorry that I was not more precise. I will report back.

Yeah, I have 4.82. I have only tried to install it on 4.81 and 4.82

I didn't test the games on a non-rebug CFW due to the fact I rather not mess around with flashing so much as the more I do it the more likely I am to brick. I however did take the time to test the games on Rebug Lite 4.82.1 w/Cobra 7.54 and mmCM 4.82.00 and also tested them with Rebug REX 4.82.1 w/Cobra 7.55 and mmCM 4.82.00. I have WebManMOD installed if that could cause problems. I didn't test all of the games with Cobra OFF (I was getting tired), but I tried 3 of them and it made no difference.

I tested 7 games in the series and only 2 installed; the rest started the installation onto the internal HDD and then threw an error.

iirc, there's a certain file responsible for the game install. it determines what of the available files is to be installed. maybe something is wrong with one of the files to be installed? I believe the file's extension is changed once installation is complete. I think that's how the game knows that gamedata is installed. I'm remembering this from a game where the extension of the install file changes from .str to .end .

This is what I did ... after testing the first time with 4.82.1 Lite I updated to 4.82.1 REX. I saw no reason to update to 4.82.2 due to the DEX only additions.

Well their is a light 4.82.2 but can confirm it has same problems for me as well.

So your test result is missing the game I tested but guess that's fine, I'll look into the issue. I wish you specified the which game you tested under non-cobra though, so the issue may not be coming from Cobra itself.

Can anybody confirm this issue on non-REBUG CFW?

I will test it today with Cobra turned off. Sorry, it was late (7am) and I had stayed up all night testing these games, updating stuff, etc ... I will report back once I finish testing them with Rebug REX 4.82.1 w/Cobra turned off.
 
Well, I tested the same games again with the same results with Cobra turned OFF using Rebug REX 4.82.1, mmCM 4.82.00, etc ... (same setup as above). Bummer :/

I don't think there's any issue with Firmware.

@cots I suggest trying the original game disc to confirm the issue first before reporting the issue from now on, or at least verify your game rip with IRD data made for 3k3y

Can you provide more information about your "confirmation" ?

Rip!=original disc
Try iso and jb format.
If iso works that means cobra needs update again for jb rips

The OP stated games work on OFW but don't on REBUG as if original games don't work, anyways he tested games without COBRA and failed as well which implies the issue is elsewhere. He could've used PSN Patch or SEN who knows?
