PS4 (Rumor) Possible Exploit for 8.52

I don't know. it's part of the disclosure agreement. the hackers must give sony a reasonable amount of time for the exploits to be patched before disclosure is permitted. it's a win/win scenario really. I assume they wait to hand out the money until that time just in case something were to leak out.

It's quite simple actually.

If the bug is located in open source code, the vulnerability info will be divulged after a grace period which can vary as a CVE report will be created for the vulnerability..

If the bug is located in proprietary code, it will never be made public under the terms of the NDA.

while you're at it, @cristi20tgv , you might consider donating to a dev whose work you've enjoyed. I plan to continue doing that. just bought ni no kuni 2, sonic forces, and sonic colors ultimate on the switch. ni no kuni 2 might still be downloading actually, so I probably won't be buying that flashed uhd bluray drive, since my new computer didn't come with an optical drive. anyway, I'm kinda tapped out for the month.

I wouldn't say that. the reason the ps3 has had so much more development is that sony royally screwed up their security, so it's much easier to have full access over the file system. we don't have that with the ps4. samu has to do almost everything for us via an exploit. I wouldn't say the system is hacked or jailbroken either, because both imply the security has been defeated, which simply isn't the case.

You all maybe jumping the gun. He may never disclose the vulnerable he works with Google. May not want to release it because then maybe Google will think about what if he discloses there vulnerabilities.

it doesn't matter much to me, since I couldn't care less about games being playable, and I'm on 5.05 anyway. 9.00 apparently fixes the c-bomb issues with cmos batteries dying, then not being able to play any games. hen can get around that but all legit discs won't be playable. 5.05 is the only firmware with a payload that can fix the rtc issue. it will mess up the internal clock if you try it on any other firmware above that. I've heard that's why al-azif removed it from her host.

the discs would have to be playable in order to dump them though, so you'd have to dump them right when the exploit hit, just in case. that's what I did with all 13 of my games. not a single problem with them, and I injected the keystones, so legit saves work.
