Safest way to mod online?

XD fair play but what about the good cheaters?
Describe this "good cheaters" on an online competitive multiplayer game. Never heard of such a thing. Been telling people to eat shit for 7 years now for this. Nobody ever decides "Yeah, I'll apply these to me and everyone else fairly." Never seen that yet. It's been losers that don't want to develop skills in games, or else people with "worship my superior abilities over others" personalities by cheating.

Maybe he means cheater that didn't made thing that could damage players or the fun in the game.
For example, when I was modding in Black Ops 2 I only made GSC modded gametypes (Such as Hide and Seek, and others) that increased the fun and the variety of the game, without harming players. I remember that I had always the lobby full of 12 or 18 players (Depending on the gametype)

I remember MW2 and WAW being crapped on by modders / cheaters beyond belief back around 2011 / 2012. Thanks to that, I learned to hate call of duty and basically never play it again (other reasons too, like it being a crappy game that gets released annually and adds absolutely nothing new to the formula except for maps and stupid killstreak perks.) Got real tired of trying to join a simple FFA match only to find it was filled with 12 year olds doing the moon jump and laughing on their mics..

If you want to mod online, regardless of how justified it is to you, be prepared to accept a ban if the hammer happens to fall on you. A lot of people really don't like cheaters. I mean, just go watch the movie "Casino" with Robert De Niro and watch that part where they crush the guys hands with the hammer after they catch him and his pal counting cards lmao......

I'm not justifing myself, don't worry. I know already that I deserve the ban for joining online with a DEX console.
Anyway, that you described, are the bad/annoying cheaters. These are the ones that ruins the experience of gaming, and sadly, nowadays it's literally full.
I always "modded" (Modded intended that I added new gametypes, not that super jump crap. For example, "Hide n Seek" was waaay different that "super jump/super sprint" shit) in private match (I had a popular clan back then, and I was very active in the Italian competitive Black Ops 2 community, so, the word that I was making modded gametypes spreaded very fast. so, playing online public matches for searching players wasn't necessary. And we had a telegram and whatsapp group that we used for organize the matches) because I never wanted to ruin the public experience, and I never did. The ones that joined my private modded partys, joined of their own free will.
And as I say, I know that I deserved the ban, no one is blaming for it.

Yeah cheating ruined COD for me too and I never went back. I think it was probably a good thing though as it was so addictive :)

The worst thing is the devs actually allow the cheating on purpose on older versions so they can sell new games IMO. For example how hard can be to design a game engine to detect someone moon jumps and someone who never reloads and make that impossible.. They basically make a game that will only work properly for a while..

I spent a lot of hours on MW2, was pretty addicting for sure FFA/TDM used to be my go-to's for kicking back and relaxing. I haven't played in a pretty long time now. I messed around with a few USB/CFG menu's when those were still a thing just for shits and giggles (didn't get banned lmao) kinda ruined everything even more. Not sure of the current state of the servers but I'd imagine they are all even worse these days since most of the casuals invest their time on the current gen systems. It's crappy but oh well lol, even if it weren't for the cheaters I'd probably still get bored with it pretty quick. Most of the gaming I do these days is solo.
