There are several ways to block network traffic. Among those, a proxy server can do the job on Windows, Linux or Android. Can you suggest FREE app to block URL?
Can you show me how to block URL using Charles ? (as exemple)
Charles Proxy is just one proxy server app among many, you can use another, the principle is always the same.
It's quick & easy to set up once the app is installed, you just need to
1. Configure one proxy "rule" for the url you wish to block in the proxy server settings, you will see, it is quite self explanatory. Let all other traffic pass through unfiltered.
2. Run the proxy server.
3. Configure the client's network to send traffic to the proxy. On the PS3, you only need to choose to use a proxy & add its local IP address during the network setup process.
4. Check the proxy server logs to see the url blocks in the filtered traffic.
For one-off things & experiments, I often use the Servers Ultimate Pro app on my Android phone because it is ubiquitous & I always have a smartphone handy & running.
For a permanent or semi permanent setup though, it's a different story, it depends on the circumstances, sometimes running a proxy server on PC is more appropriate, usually though using hardware is preferable.
