PS3 So who own's PS3hax.net? We have the Answer that may surprise you

I am sure everyone here knows of the website PS3hax.net but who owns these websites? That is a very good question, and one i found my self asking a few times as i noticed the ads looked very similar for sometime now. As when comparing them to other websites such as the ones owned by CaputoMedia and the ever growing neglect and lazy approach the owner Pirate had for what was suppose to be his own website. Well the truth has come out and its very clear that Pirate does not own PS3hax.net but is rather a puppet of CaputoMedia who was hired after the sale to maintain the site. [break]..[/break]

They asked Pirate to stay on and maintain the website as the company feared that the same type of backlash would occur when they bought up rest of the scene's popular websites of PSX-Scene / DashHacks / PSgroove .. So how do we know that Pirate no longer owns the site. Well the easiest way to confirm this is follow the money. The ads on the website all have several things in common. They are all the same and from the same company. but there is a unique identifier that can not be denied. This is called the poolid

If you search "61976" on the four websites page source, they will show that is the poolid for CPMStar (which is a Gaming ad company). This ID is unique, think of it like an account number. Some site has multiple numbers if they want to see which ads are being clicked more and all that but also many sites will use the same number for all the ads. but in this case the number is being used by all four sites. Which only happens if all the ad revenue is going to the same account.. So this is 100% factual and not any type of speculation as this is the smoking gun evidence that proves Pirate is not the owner of the website known as ps3hax.net / ps4hax.net. As you see in the pictures included below and you can search this for yourself that all those ID match. So there you have it. Pirate is not the owner of ps3hax network and has not been for some time. The ps3hax staff did not know of this secret just as the PSX-Scene/DashHacks/QJ Staff's. but the current owner and former owner kept this a secret for a very long time and now it's no longer a secret but public information as it should be.

History indeed. About time the cat was mauled in the bag, thrown off a bridge into masses of traffic.

 

This is the first time I ever hear of CaputoMedia, though I've individually known of some of the websites they own for a few years. I used to lurk in Dashhacks a lot during the PSP era. Apparently they own QuickJump too. I think that site is dead. I signed up there not that long ago and I never got a confirmation e-mail for the sign up. There's also an update post that talks about delayed payments or something.

 

After all that drama and such, the result only hurt people and helped the same guy who owned those all the scene sites.

@ iiNeonNightz Tranced and STLcardsWS were writers at Dashacks for some years (me too even from time to time). As you see, they have publicly owned PSX-Scene as well for a while... a PLACE you might know us from too

I've heard several rumors underground scene developers actually promote the drama. Possibly to hinder advancements; cause separation, when all this community really wants is harmony.

I wonder how deep this rabbit's hole goes?

I was not happy to find out. honestly i did not want to believe it. I have suspected it and just found out with this conformation. being an admin and setting up a new site you do learn some things and TBH without this place i may not of learned that.

I do not think the owner of CaputoMedia was evil in this sense that they allowed it but the neglect is what they were Guilty of and not caring if people were running it right was the issue. If we had know that ps3hax was owned by them Many of us psx-scene would of complained to the REAL owners and TBH we might of been mods and writers there also perhaps. Now that is a crazy thought.

Because pirate was just screwing them over They were just not wise enough to see it or i guess care if the numbers where at the level they needed it was okay. I am not sure personally. .. But wish i had known, pirate would not been of been there as long as he has. They would of been educated about him a long ago

Myself and GregoryRasputin seen this type of thing first hand a couple years ago. We figured it out and seen we were being played and it was just that.. THOSE GUYS KNOW WHO THEY WERE

 

The thing I have the hardest time understanding is how/why Caputo Media has neglected all these sites. I don't know exactly, but it seems like they would have been making a decent amount of money between the three sites because imo, at least one of those sites (and likely all 3 of them) was used regularly by 99% of the ps3 homebrew scene, which seems like it would be a fairly significant number of folks.

On a side note, the situation with Caputo reminds me of one of my favorite movies "A Fistful of Dollars".

"Baxter's (PSX) over there, Rojo's (Hax) there, me (Caputo) right smack in the middle."

All that drama meant more posts, more clicks, etc. Anyways, maybe Hax, PSX-Scene, and Dashhacks will all die soon. I don't know much about how hax and dashhacks are run, but a site that is run like PSX-Scene doesn't seem like it would last long before it really falls apart. Time will tell I suppose.

 

Sad, I faithfully followed PSX-Scene, Dashhacks and QJ for awhile. I wondered why the sites seemed to be getting shitty recently. I get all my news from here now anyway

To be honest, Pirate has always been a lazy b*stard, ever since i was made a moderator in 2008, i found myself basically running the site on my own, which led many people to think the site was mine.
The laziness has always been there and is nothing new, which is why after 6 years i got fed up.

Many sites hold competitions to reward their members, which they usually pay for via ad revenue, the two competitions that i can recall that Pirate did, was one back in 2007, in which a member of the forum would win a PS3, the only thing is, there was no PS3, then there was another competition he did, but was only able to do so, because it was done via a sponsorship.

Any other competition on the forum was done by me and out of my own pocket, the fee games give aways, the multiple $50 or £50 PSN code give-aways, all done by me and whilst most of you here thing im a piece of sh*t, when it came to rewarding PS3HaX members i was quite generous and with my own cash.

Anyhow, I am still looking at some other explanation as i cannot believe this is all real.
Anyhow, enough of my rambling, i will leave this here:

To me when the past is forgotten one can not learn the future. History repeats itself. That is a saying that rings true on anything..

 

I didnt hope history repeats! Look at the past, what happened to psx-scene 2010. All devs left and moved to other boards. So lets hope Site Wars didnt repeat

That is this why this was done as it was. History tends to repeat itself though.

I always been a fan of history (i know a boring subject to some, but learning history is looking having a crystal ball for the future)

I know how that feeling is.. I remember when we did good things for charity and we donated prizes to get some donations also. But i know you have donated many things to the scene.

Yea i do not like the dongles like yourself, but to make a agreement and then take the money that is shameless. He should said no or when pulled he should of refunded the money. That is just a bit sad. Heck at very least donated it to the scene..but that is theft plain and simple.

The whole PS3 raffle that is insane. Very classless. Did he announce a fake winner or something?

PlayStationHaX is just as neutral as PSX-Place.
Also no, PlayStationHaX was not made because of PS3HaX...

Also PlayStationHAX is good up and coming community just as this one is.

There is good people at HAX no one is saying that but there is alot of bad at ps3hax. most of the mods and the "fake owner" are truly bad people who do not care..

Its not really site wars.. Its basically a scene against ps3hax because of the abuse there..
When you have a site that steals from rest of the scene to create the news and have no respect there, when you have mods that post in other username. when you have mods that change avators to offensive things. When you have just total lack of PROFESSIONALISM and RESPECT. That is where the problems are with that website. Pirate will not fix it as it takes effort. Some ps3hax mods will say not my site so i wont fix it. but sadly that is the SAME attitude pirate has.. Pirate gets paid no matter what. He doesnt care.

 

PSX-Scene is good because of the writers and mods.

Also PlayStationHAX is good up and coming community just as this one is.

yes you are right, but do we really need every day some bad news about them? Not really ;-)
