Solved: 4.85 Demonstration Mode

I'm not too familiar with IDU mode on the ps3. there's probably a button combo like on the vita and the ps4. I've been on IDU with the vita. unless you plug the device in, it only lets you play for five minutes. no issue with a plugged in system like the pstv, which I've been on as well. the problem, at least there, is that it just unlocks the device for you to play around with. it doesn't actually get you out of IDU mode. resetting or it powering off from the five minute limit doesn't matter. you'll still be stuck. that's how it is on the vita, but there's a homebrew to get out of it. I'm not sure on the ps3 though, just sharing my experience with IDU.

hmm...that page says 4.8x, so I assume it works for 4.81-4.85. I didn't know there was a different key for each firmware. I've only been on IDU mode on one firmware with the vita and the pstv. it wasn't a numeric key either (how those are entered, I'm not sure). it was a button press key.
 
@pinky all I know is I got this system and its stuck in safemode and says demonstration mode on the right corner and wants fimrware higher then 4.85 but I tried the 4.85 retail from sonys website and gives the error code 8002f2e4 which is a demonstration mode error code
 
you should wait for someone more knowledgeable about it like @Joonie . there's probably a way out of it. I mean there is on the vita and the ps4 I believe. I know for sure this is true of the vita at least, 'cause I'm back on cex.
 
goto security icon on xmb. press L1 R1 select start + all four shape buttons at same time. enter code for 4.84 from link pinky gave.

at least thats what google says. i dont know. try it and see.

I am stuck in 4.85 Demonstration mode and stuck in Safemode on the PS3
 
not sure. I wasn't stuck in safe mode on the vita. you just couldn't move without the key combo. I don't think it was true sex firmware either, which may be why it's acting that way. there's not a whole lot of info about it on psdevwiki , so you probably need someone with firsthand experience. it may be like fsm where you need a special file to enter and to exit, not really sure.
 
no demonstration mode and not stuck in recovery? I tried looking for an md5, and the latest I could find for shop firmware was 4.82.

thanks alot for your help and knowledge but that pup that guy sent was a 4.85 Shop firmware which got me out of safe mode and now I can install 4.85 before its jailbroken
