Hi everyone. I downloaded a pkg game that is > 4GB so I tried to transfer it on my ps3 using pkg linker but when the download starts the 80023324 error comes out after a while. I don't even have an ethernet cable. So is there a way to split the pkg in files <4GB so I can install the game easily with a fat32 formatted usb? Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

It will also work if u have a router with wired connection, that's more easy than the ps3 to pc way. But first u need to have router with wired connection. BTW The error comes from the bad configuration.

I am not sure that u can do that ... Splitting a 4gb < file on pc will need Multiman to unsplit it again inside the ps3 then installing it but no Multiman on HAN tho

Bad configuration means that I had done something wrong or simply bad internet signal?

It is possible but it is very tedious to do, you must create separate pkgs, filling each one up with almost 4Gb of game files, each with the param.sfo (and eboot I think) included. I think you need to modify the category on all of the pkgs except the last one to be Game Data.

Try run PKG Linker but use xampp as the server, some have said it does not give that error, it will not make your transfer go any quicker though, or you can wait for the next PKG Linker update that should hopefully solve some of these issues.

Or ask your mates, lots households will have a few spare ethernet cables, they come free with consoles and routers etc.

Yes bad configuration means that u have done something wrong in port or ip, try and run pkg linker using xampp server that's easy too, as Devil303 said.

The fact is that my ps3 is in a strange position that can't let me work on the back side of it. Do you know any detailed tutorial on how to split the pkg or use xampp?

I cant help with splitting, I have never done it. There is a tutorial here that mentions it.

For xampp
  • Make sure no other webservers are running first.
  • Install XAMPP, run it, click the top start button for apache.
  • Put packages and the PKG Linker exe into the c:\xampp\htdocs folder.
  • Run PKG Linker, on start up, say no when it asks do you want to use built in server
  • Go to PS3 and run HAN Enabler and then try refresh list.
  • If it downloads the new Package_List.pkg then Reboot.
  • If it does not download the package_list the try install it manually via USB and then reboot.
  • Run HAN Enabler again and try install a pkg.
  • While testing its best if you do this with pkgs that you 100% know work via USB.

u better go buy, Gigabit router( Wired Router ) u have 5-Port Routers that get 1gbps they are called gigabit routers or wired routers, i have a thomson wired router and it works just perfect a 11gb game can be installed just for 15 minutes.
