How do you know it's actually bricked? Is it not possible to enter the recovery mode?
Have you tried to boot without HDD? If it displays a warning message than it's not bricked.

BTW. @bguerville, would you have any idea why HEN would not work for me? It's almost like something's blocking it...
Any ideas will be much appreciated.

try a different hdd. ps3 will format it. you can out old one back in again and it will not be formatted.

Thanks. Is it possible that HFW 4.90 or HEN 3.2.2 don't like my HDD? Previous version worked fine. Not to mention I bought this HDD especially for the PS3.

you can try hen 3.2.0 or 3.2.1 versions. you can not downgrade hfw so you are stuck on 4.90.

I shall try to install HEN 3.2.1 pkg the next time I'm able to enable HEN. I haven't had any luck in the past couple of days.

Last time it came on I had a power outage. I thought that HEN wouldn't turn on again afterwards but to my surprise it had. I installed Irisman and Webman and that was it. No luck since then. I don't see a pattern here unfortunately. It's not Webman as I'd been trying for days before I was even able to enable it to install any pkgs at all.

Anyways, thanks for the help. I'll come back with updates.

Everytime i try to load the firmware to my ps3 it doesn't recognize the file, just the usb
I made sure the usb was formatted to fat32 but it doesn't work.

Some PS3s randomly boot into the recovery menu, asking you to press the PS button . Is this because of HEN or the HFW ? If you have a really fake controller, you're kinda stuck !

hello happy new year, lately I wanted to play my PSP games on the ps3 despite the little compatibility with it. but now when I create the PKG with the .iso and the pspMINIS and install it on the PS3 I get the following errors:
- error: please turn on wlan setting (10011)
- ------------------------------------- (10002)
and when I try with PSP launcher it tells me that I must "renew the license" and with other versions it gives me black screens....

I have:
- PS3 super slim
- webman 1.47.45
- HFW 4.90 , HEN 3.2.2

Sorry, but HFW can not contain RSOD, noBT, noBD, or any other fixes. it is just not possible.

Downgrade is only possible if you install a custom firmware (CFW) and enable QA flags.

HFW is practically the same as OFW except that it includes an old webkit from older OFW to allow HEN installation.

Hey, hello, hi, I'm new. So sometimes, when I launch an app (homebrew or signed, doesn't matter) there's a chance the PS3 would lock up on a black screen, as if it was trying to load into a game but fails. No amount of button combinations would fix anything, and a force restart is the only option.

Super Slim model, not sure which one, I'll edit it in later.

But after I reassembled my PS3, when I plug the power, no red light appears on the power button and the PS3 never switches ON at all. I have opened the PS3 and checked all the connectors and power supply, and all is ok.

-Do you know is it can be related to the HEN, or 4.91 firmware ?

-How to fix this please, and get my PS3 to switch ON again ?

The issue is clearly not HEN or HFW, but the fact that you disassembled the console. Check all the cables again, maybe some have come loose.
And you can install CFW on your system; you don't need HEN.

propably something that you installed broke the enable hen icon.

you can try setting the webpage below as your browser's homepage. then you should only have to open the browser for it to enable hen. (if you use the browser for other things, make the page a bookmark. open browser and press select to see bookmarks.)

Hello to all,

I have installed the HFW 4.91 and PS3HEN v3.3.0 on my PS3 Slim CECH-2004B 3 weeks ago, and all has been great all the time, no issue at all.

I would like to replace the HDD of my PS3 Slim by a bigger HDD or SSD (1 To size maximum for PS3) :

-Do I need to revert back to Official 4.91 Firmware before changing the HDD ?
Or can I keep the HFW 4.91 and PS3HEN v3.3.0 installed on my PS3, just remove old HDD and insert new HDD, and just install again the HFW 4.91 from my Fat32 usb stick "directly" ?

-Which HDD would you recommend formy PS3 Slim CECH-2004B please ?
HDD Seagate ST1000LM048 1To ? Or SSD Samsung EVO 870 1To ?

I had Hen and Han toolbox both installed on 4.89 with Hen 3.1.1, could it be ported to 4.91 and Hen 3.3.0?

hi to everyone, i have a problem and i really dont undarstand what happen, i had the 4.89 hfw with hen and everithing was ok, but i updated my console to 4.91 and now all my ps2 games has no sound, i dont know what to do, i tried to change something in sound settings like disable all the options that the console let me disable but all its the same, ps1 games work, ps3 games work the issue its only with ps2 games that work too but no sound on it, if maybe someone knows what can be and help me i will be very greatful.
