Use IRISMAN or ManaGunZ instead MultiMAN. Deank(dev of MultiMAN) leaved PS3 scene years ago MultiMAN became abandoned software. Due to unmaintenance MultiMAN can't handle some features like NTFS R/W support.

boot_plugins.txt on USB-root did nothing for my PS3 system. In either USB-slot. But i know this helped another dude with similar issues.

Using R2 yielded instead of freeze directly after "Welcome to HEN 3.2.0", but with holding R2 i got "HEN failure, please reboot PS3" written in red letters then pipipipp(3x) and need to manually needed restart. When frozen after not holding R2 it needs to remake filestructure. The other HEN versions worked flawlessly all of the versions.

Uninstalled webmanmod & multiman. Didnt improve anything either.

It seems like you were not getting to the point of HEN even loading yet. You will see the Welcome To PS3HEN message and thats when it would freeze if using older webmanmod. The R2 button also didnt help you because the html in web page was not finding offsets, or lv2 exploit was failing, so HEN never loaded. Usually setting the exploit page to home and restarting browser lets it work almost instantly. After you press Install HEN, you can hold R2 and when HEN loads, it will bypass plugins (also boot_plugins.txt gets read).

I don't like irisman at all or managunz. I still use and will only use multiman.

I think the problem of Enabling HEN and showing the web page with the Gray HEN symbol and the Clock Spinning forever is related to USB device connections.

I put a blank boot_plugins.txt file on a USB drive like esc0rtd3w said and was able to start HEN with no problem.
webMAN MOD 1.47.44 appears disabled.
Then I turned off my PS3, removed the USB drive, turned on and started HEN with webMAN MOD with no problem...

I have a problem activating HEN on XMB.

The Gray Hen logo appears, the clock spins, the console doesn't freeze, but the HEN doesn't activate. And when I press the off button, the console does not turn off completely and I have to disconnect the cable.

My timeline:
I waited patiently for the release of the new HEN.
I followed the team's recommendations before doing anything.

[I was on HFW 4.89.1 + HEN 3.1.1]

-I updated webMAN MOD to 1.47.44 before installing HFW 4.90.1 and HEN 3.2.0 (I didn't have any problem)

-I installed HFW 4.90.1 from the recovery menu (No problems too)

-And I was able to install HEN 3.2.0 with the HEN Auto Installer option from the Official ps3xploit page (No problems, on the first try and no freezing)

Everything was really correct and without any problem.

-My console rebooted and the HEN egg appeared on the home screen and on the XMB (as it always has been)

-I was able to start HEN with the XMB icon without problems.
(It loaded HEN with the gray icon, it showed version 3.2.0 and webMAN MOD 1.47.44)

-Updated / Reinstalled
IRISMAN 4.90
prepISO (NTFS/exFAT) v1.30
PS2 CONFIG Database v1.01
PS2 Classic Launcher v1.00
Reload XMB addon v1.00

-I shut down and restarted my console and re-enabled HEN with the XMB icon with no issues.
I played some games for 1 hour...

-Then I turned off my console for 30mins to continue playing later.

-I turn on. But HEN does not activate... Gray logo, console does not freeze, I can move the cursor, the clock keeps spinning (Same as I wrote at the beginning)

I don't know if it will be some kind of incompatibility with some of the things I have installed... I deactivated my WIFI and extracted the disc from my console too.

The last multiman version that works with HEN is 4.84, not the one from brewology which is the last version.
If you try the latest multiman with the latest HFW it wont work.
Because of the things mentioned above, multiman is not recommended to use. I just keep it because I think its file manager is easier to use. Irisman has a file manager as well but it reminds me of file managers from old operating systems and I dont like it, I just use it to dump my original discs, with multiman this option to create ISO files from a disc doesnt work well in some games.
To load games it is highly recommended to use webmanmod.

1. Turn on your PS3 then go to Network
2. Choose Hybrid Firmware Tools then PS3HEN Updater and Update PS3HEN
3. Finally, choose Update HEN Offline HDD Setup.
4. Accept and wait for the process to complete then restart your PS3!
5. Activate HEN again. Enjoy!

but I encounter an error message 80710092...
I cleared the browser cache, deleted cookies, upgrade Webman MOD v1.47.44
Apparently the update downloads but does not install: error 80029563..
Should anything else be done?

Ok heres another fix for people who have freezing issues. Follow everything on here with the boot_plugin.txt and then you have to make a new user and hen should be enabled on there. After that you need to install the latest version of webman mod with a usb stick. I dont know how i came to that but trust me it works. I spent all day on this and i cant tell you how fucking ecstatic i was. I was on the verge of formatting my hard drive. Hope this helps other people

use an installer. the built-in update function is probably broken due to using old .com domain.

no need for a new user. just use boot_plugins.txt.

the thing is ive been using boot_plugin.txt. but it never worked. i held r2 but it didnt do anything. once i made the new user, the package manager showed up on that new user and i was able to install the latest version of webman mod on a usb and get hen working again. but then again this could just be a me thing and ig i got lucky.

yeah. I used both txt and text and tried multiple times. made the text empty and on the root of the usb drive. the ps3 read the stick too. i reinstalled hfw twice and installed hen 2 times and it didnt work until i had made another user. Again maybe this could just be some weird thing that happened on my end but im curious to see if that would work for other people.

switching users would have refreshed the xmb and made pkg manager visable (if available). that's all you need really if you have the pkg.

And thats what i needed. Hen was installed but it wasnt showing so i guess once i refreshed the xmb by making a new user, it showed all of hens features.

Maybe i found a bug with new hen 3.2.0

When you try to Enable hen When dualshock 3 is under charge but turned off, Enable hen Will loading forever. During This loading, if you turn on the pad (always under charge), Enable hen Will work instantly.. Same if you remove che cable From usb Port.

I tried:
In 2 different ps3 (slim & super slim)
2 different cables
2 different original dualshock 3
In Both usb port

Is it normal???

I tested here, keeping another controller charging and disconnected while charging and it didnt affect whatsoever. See if the option to autoupdate hen is enabled and disable it. When hen didnt had the option to disable autoupdate every once in a while it would crash when trying to seek an update.
