Tales of Vesperia Resolution Increase

Years ago I played Tales of Vesperia on the Xbox 360, and loved it. I decided to play the game on my PS3 as I heard it had the extra content. Upon starting the game I was shocked by the rather bad graphics. I thought that it was probably nostalgia that had clouded my eyes as to what the game looked like back when I played the 360 version. However, I turned on the 360 version again and saw that it did in fact look a lot better.

I then went researching as to why. I found out that the xbox 360 version ran in 1280x720 @30 with 2x MSAA, while the PS3 ran at 1280x576 @30 with a weird style of AA. I understand that this is due to that fact that the game was originally planned for the 360 as an exclusive so it got a poor port to the PS3. However, I believe the issue here is not the lesser resolution, but the fact that the AA does a terrible job of covering up the lack of vertical resolution. Wouldn't the game have to try and smooth out non square pixels?

These issues lead me to look into boosting the games vertical resolution or changing the AA if it was possible through CFW. Seeing as how the AA style was non standard I didnt expect being able to do much about it.
I found that you could use aldostools to change the information int he param.sfo files, information such as resolution. However, I think the choice of resolution is not a hard code parameter, but rather something for the PS3 to lookup out of a set table of resolutions to choose when the game first launches, correct? Seeing as my only options were enabling 1080p or not I wasn't surprised when the game black screened when trying to launch in 1080p.

This is were I'am currently at with this endeavor. I want to try and locate a hard code resolution somewhere in the games launch files to add slightly more vertical resolution and see what my frames are like or even if the game will get past black screen on boot. I decrypted the eboot.BIN and scoured through the .elf with a hex editor and got nowhere.

I'am posting this thread to ask for help. Does anyone know anything about changing PS3 game resolution manually. Where the data is stored to do so? eboot.BIN,etc ? I have found post where some people have claimed to boost the resolution in red dead redemption by a few lines of pixels. Do some developers store the data in the eboot.BIN freely, or does it require other programs or further decryption?

I understand each developer is different, and each engine is different, there fore they would all have different locations for such data/code. But I also know that some developers also tend to have a similar pipeline for many different projects over a long period of time, maybe other people might have some knowledge of resolution changing on other namco bandai games.

Any help at all would be appreciated. And if I have any success I will post back my results here.
