PS4 [TUTORIAL] How to take a NOR backup on every PS4

there's nothing wrong with my system. I think there is with @komabear 's. I just checked my addcont.db earlier today, and there was only one thing listed after I rebuilt the database, so I reinstalled all dlc. it didn't take very long. it actually took longer to go through the x is download; x is installed thing in the notifications section. anyway, my system works very well.

I don't know, but I'd imagine so. I haven't done this mod before, since I've never been in IDU mode.

edit: btw, I linked this thread and your post to kiiwii's guides on temp. he thinks it's the same thing, but he also hasn't done this mod.

It was the first time I did something similar, yet I found it simple. The only thing is that we now very little about the NOR so unless you have a lot of dump to compare to try to restore the one corrupted or you're trying to fix the WiFi/Bt area, it's pretty useless.
Hello my friend

I do not know what is the configuration of the Jumpers
of the CH341a programmer,

maybe you have a photo.

Hi friends! I want to share my experience.
I want to fix loadbios-8! PS4 PRO 7008 (46 bridge) (this is not a hardware problem) .
I switched the active bios slot, but bricked the syscon (software version 0xffffffff)
I patched flash dump the 0x201000 partition with FF values (16 bytes). Don't use it, brick!

UART LOG BEFORE PATCHING:
secure loader build: Mar 19 2019 05:32:35 (r9884:release_branches/release_06.510) [800MHz]
AGESA: GL&MO.BDK W8A12
ERROR: sceSblSlLoadSelfWithVerifiedHeader(171) sceSblCfVeriLoadSegment -36
ERROR: loadBios(2174) sceSblSlLoadSelf -8
ERROR: main(4065) loadBios -8

After Filing (FF) offset 0x201000 size: 16 (ULTRA MEGA BRICK SYSCON )

UART LOG:
secure loader build: Mar 1 2019 05:32:38 (r9861:release_branches/release_06.500) [800MHz]
AGESA: GL&MO.BDK W8A12
standby 06510000
ERROR: main(3682) checkUpdVersion 0xffffffff != 0x6508000

The partitions are switched back, but the error is the same:
secure loader build: Mar 19 2019 05:32:35 (r9884:release_branches/release_06.510) [800MHz]
AGESA: GL&MO.BDK W8A12
ERROR: main(3682) checkUpdVersion 0xffffffff != 0x6510000

rewrite flash not result, syscon damaged. BwE NOR validator: No errors and warnings;

Hello, friends!
I switched the active slot (9.50 ->9.03) and downgraded the firmware without a dump 9.03! But we need a new chip R5F100LLAB 0.50mm pitch.
my is R5F100LLAA 0.65mm pitch.
this method will fix the bios error loadbios -8 and checkUpdVersion
I attach my syscon for example and analysis (all logs and extra records are deleted)

nor patch: Filing (FF) offset 0x201000 size: 16 (ULTRA MEGA BRICK SYSCON , USE ONLY NEW SYSCON)

Individual correction and clear syscon , find the right software version in the logs
(need find correct version A5 08 00 FF XX - A5 0B 00 XX )

Hey
Long story short:
I have an PS4 with the now newest firmware because I left it in rest mode while walking my dog.
So therefore I can't jailbreak it anymore.
After discovering this thread (and yes I've read the big red warnings) I wanted to ask if how I could modify my NOR backup or and where I could get one that could make it possible to downgrade to 9.00.
Thanks in advance:)
Peace!

Yeah you can downgrade back to whatever you had earlier. My program will be able to confirm if you can and show you where to make the patches as well as patch your nor. But you need to dump your syscon. Lots of effort. I'll be making a super basic step by step guide soon enough though.

can you patch my nor and syscon

Thanks @sautzer. Great tutorial. A couple of YouTube videos say that CH341A is supplying 5v and will fry any 3.3v chips. Some are doing modifications to their CH341 to make sure it constantly supplies 3.3v. Based on your picture, you did not seem to have modified yours. I guess I'm only asking did you face any voltage issues with this programmer tool?

Actually no but I did this procedure just once

Depends on your luck. What if you fry your chip before you could make a dump? The procedure to convert from 5v to 3.3v on the data lines of ch341a is very simple, just lift one leg and connect 2 wires right. I advice you to do it.
