It's summer and you're bored; what do you do with that amount of free time? You create "Apollo", a new homebrew app for the PS3! :D

  • you might wonder... why is it called Apollo?
Apollo was the twin brother of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Since this project was born using the Artemis-GUI codebase, I decided to respect that heritage by calling it Apollo.

So, without further ado, let's present Apollo:

Apollo Save Tool is an application to manage save-game files on the PlayStation 3.
The apollo-ps3 homebrew app allows to download, unlock, patch and resign save-game files directly on your PS3.

    Features:
    • Easy to use: no crypto-key configuration or advanced setup needed.
    • Standalone: no computer required, everything happens on the PS3.
    • Save files listing: quick access to all the save files on USB and the internal PS3 HDD (+ file details)
    • Save SFO unlocking: allows the user to remove the copy-lock flag, enabling transfer of Copying Prohibited save files.
    • Save files patching: supports Bruteforce Save Data and Game Genie cheat patches to enhance your save-games.
    • Save PFD resigning: allows the user to resign save files made by other users and consoles.
    • Save downloading: access to an Online Database of save-game files to download straight to your PlayStation.

Change region is already possible BUT:
  • it won't work with all games
  • it needs from Bucanero side additional work on IDs database (because GameID determine it)
For sure works with Uncharted 2.

Yep usually works for me on most games if i use bruteforce to do it so, still i am wondering if this feature will be included on a future version

Hello bucanero i hope that you are having a wonderful day i was wondering maybe on the future you may add the change region save feature into apollo? thanks i will be looking foward for your answer

I guess you mean an option to edit the savegame TITLE_ID ?

btw, could you add the request in the GitHub project? it will be much easier for me to track it and gather feedback there: https://github.com/bucanero/apollo-ps3/issues

now that I read your comment, I think there are 2 ways to do it:

- option 1: allow the user to edit the TITLE_ID to whatever they want (no db required, the user needs to know what they're doing, check the title-id, etc). Something like opening the on-screen keyboard and get the user input.

- option 2: use the secure_file_id DB information to select the TITLE_IDs. The db already has the possible TITLEIDs with the secure_id to decrypt/encrypt the saves, so I think I could use that information to show the user all the other possible TITLE_IDs for that savegame, and let it choose one.

I think I prefer option 2, because it limits the options to the available title-ids and should bring less problems.

Oh, I didn't think about it in that way. So I prefer first option because doesn't limit user to exist object in database. But from other points of view, if user doesn't have SFID, then he also cannot change "region" so option 2 is more automatic and have sense.

BTW: Does all games using GameID in folder name only? Because as I remember, also save file itself. I'll look later into my collection (I'm keeping saves from all my games across all platforms ^^) to see if there is the same pattern because I'm not so sure that folder name is enough in all cases.

IMO Both options are ok, but it would be better combine them to avoid the restriction that Berion mentions. I mean to allow any title ID, and *suggest* some possible values from the database.

Also I wanted to ask: does Apollo support "Unlock Save to work on any PS3 account" or "Unlock Save with Rebug's FAKE account"? Bruteforce Savedata supports both option and they are fairly easy to implement.

To "Unlock Save to work on any PS3 account" just need to edit the PARAM.SFO of the savedata and change the ACCOUNT_ID and AccountID in PARAMS field to 0000000000000000 (0 means NULL char or all bits off)

To "Unlock Save with Rebug's FAKE account" just need to edit the PARAM.SFO of the savedata and change the ACCOUNT_ID and AccountID in PARAMS field to FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF (all literal F, which means all bits on).

BTW I'm not sure if BSD is doing it correctly for Rebug's FAKE account setting.
I don't remember if the F's should be lowercase.

The folder name is specified in the "Save Directory" field of the PARAM.SFO. e.g. BLES01219-PENGUINS-OF-MADAGASCA

The first 9 characters generally is the GameID (TitleID).

Apollo currently supports the BSD "Unlock Save to work on any PS3 account", although the option is called "Remove Account ID". (named because it was just setting the Acount ID to zeros (0x00) )
I had no idea about Rebug's Fake account , but it can be easily added for sure. :)

I don't remember if the F's should be lowercase.

From what I remember, it should be lowercase, at least for regular AccountIDs they're stored in lowercase (so in this case "ffffffffffffffff"). But since I don't have CFW/Rebug I can't honestly check... hopefully some Rebug user will confirm if it uses lowercase or not.

To "Unlock Save to work on any PS3 account" just need to edit the PARAM.SFO of the savedata and change the ACCOUNT_ID and AccountID in PARAMS field to 0000000000000000 (0 means NULL char or all bits off)
Aldo, can this patch be implemented to wMM?

Aldo, can this patch be implemented to wMM?
I think this will be amazing if in the wMM setup there is a radio button for "Auto Unlock Save to work on any PS3 account".

It is feasible... However I prefer not to touch the savedata due there is a risk of corrupt the saves.

IMO it would make more sense if that feature is implemented in Cobra/PS3HEN payload in the open_path_hook of mappath.c

The payload could detect when the PARAM.SFO of a save is opened and it could patch it on-the-fly.

Rebug REX already has "Fake Save Data Owner". Not sure if it would be too difficult to implement in LITE edition or if the patched files could be added to PS3HEN. I have asked to Joonie many times to make a hybrid Rebug using DEX files from older release (the FW haven't changed too much since 4.80), but the team is too purist to do that ;)

I don't understand coding, is Master Aldo willing to write the code? I can compile and try it out.

bulk resigning is going to be available in the next version.
Right now the only option is resigning one by one , so yes for 700 saves it can be a slow process.

keep an eye here or in Github if you want to be notified when the new version with mass-resign is ready.

thanks for your work.

Does anyone know why, when I try to apply any cheats, the system just sits and spins at the Applying cheats forever. I can only just exit back out to XMB screen.

can you tell which save-game are you trying to apply a cheat?
if you just try to "resign" a save, without cheats, you get errors too?

maybe there's an issue with that specific cheat or game, I can't answer without more information
