.Hello.

We are aware of the SSL problem currently on ps3toolset.com.

via bguerville:

The Cloudflare SSL certificate provider upgraded their certs to ECDSA, they're no longer PS3 compliant. I just tried to install a let's encrypt certificate, it uses RSA sha256 as required, it's signed with a certificate authority included in CA_LIST.cer since fw 4.86 but it won't load. I may have found a potential solution with Cloudflare but it's 10 bucks a month.

All we need is a certificate that's guaranteed to work on PS3, the best would be to find a SSL certificate reseller that allows you to access a test page for each certificate they sell so we can choose something that works.

If anyone is savvy with SSL and hosting, or if they know a solution or a reseller where we can have test pages, that would be helpful. Pricing should be anywhere between USD 50 and 150 per year depending, I think.

So, in short, if there is anyone out there who has a solution, or knows of a reseller that can be used for this, please PM me with details or post them here in this thread.

If anyone would like to donate using PayPal, please use the following address [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we get this sorted out.

Heya, haven't tested it yet on PS3 but I recently found ZeroSSL, the alternative to LetsEncrypt which seems to be nearly as old. So the CA *should* be in the PS3 Firmware.
Maybe its worth a try? :)

Here's a probable solution: Run a proxy in a VPS with a selfsigned cert. Instruct users to also connect to that specific proxy in the internet settings. Setup the proxy to NOT connect to any other website besides the ps3toolset site.
Details on how to selfhost it are here: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/internet-browser-problems.42494/page-4#post-393522
The very same can be done on a VPS.
There's no need for a new shiny expensive cert...

mitmproxy doesn't work either - 80710028 error in the logs window, along with the "PS3 exploitation framework download failed " message shows up.

That defeats the point of it being easy and straightforward though.

Seen the 4.91 flash writer was finished and working but awaiting more testing to be sure its fully stable and safe to be released. Nothing else was said since may 2 so hope maybe that can be released again for a backup til a working cert is found for the tool set to bring it back up again soon. Wonder if one could install and run hen and multiman and install any updated certs in the ps3 browser to get it to accept the new updated certs that's currently in use or not til then? Yes the mitmproxy did work til the first cert change test was done. Now it gets the framework download failed with logs stating access denied now.

The easiest route I found (at the moment) to CFW is simply installing 4.90 HEN first, running the 4.90 flasher, then doing a normal CFW install. I already managed getting my 2504B 0D slim CFW'd that way with no "side effects" due to not installing a firmware twice.

For HEN simply follow the AutoHEN guide.

I really apreciate the effort the developers are putting into this cause, and I don't want to sound rude but isn't there like an alternative to this method? since my main issue is to get like a flash backup of my system and to do load the CFW via HTTPS through the tools website I think. Im really not that smart in this field so pardon my phrasing

Wait so does using HEn help with loading the site

How exactly do you do this? I got my PS3 today and just my luck the site is down lol. My PS3 is currently running a fresh install of HEN+HFW, but I want to put CFW on it. It is compatible.

I believe if your system is on 4.91 the hfw 4.90 wouldn't be accepted. Anyway hope support and help for the toolset helps the dev find the working updates and gets the toolset back up and secure once again soon.
