PS3 [UPDATE] webMAN MOD 1.46.00 - Games mounted from XMB without webbrowser_plugin (using idle_plugin)

Update (2/2/17/) -- v1.46.01
Original Article (Jan 31, 2017)
Plugin development continues on the PS3 for Custom firmware users, this week alone we have seen some new features added lin PSNpatch by KW (w./ Homebrew Blocker) and we have seen deank back with new updates to webMAN that added NTFS Support / a new XMB game loading that no longer uses the web browser trick (webbrowser_plugin), in other words the flash you see when mounting a game on the XMB In,webMAN MOD v1.46.00 the plugin incorporates that function but in a different way, this is due to the differences under the hood of the plugin. As webMAN MOD contain different support for various add-on/features that the original project by deank does not support/contain so the usage and handling of things has to be done differently to fit each project the best, for an explanation that is far better then i could offer i suggest checking out the differences between the implementation by deank and then by aldostools as its very well explained in our forums by
@bguerville .

  • Update (2/2/17) webMAN MOD 1.46.01
    • FTP Server uses again the same algorithm on all editions.
In 1.46.00, the FTP Server in full edition was based on the original webMAN due initial issues with NTFS library. The issue now has been fixed

  • webMAN MOD 1.46.00
    • Games now are mounted directly from XMB without the webbrowser_plugin
Thanks to deank for the new XMB proxy included in webMAN 1.46
    • Re-structured the project : Moved all the sub-projects to _ Projects _ folder

    via Aldostols

I have updated wm_proxy, which now is 40% smaller ;) only 2968 bytes.
    SRC: https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/tree/master/_Projects_/wm_proxy

In my tests I had issues opening the Internet Search option (found under Network.menu of XMB). So in wMM 1.46.00, I used idle_plugin, instead of kensaku_plugin or xai_plugin (which is already used by CFW Settings menu). According to psdevwiki, this idle_plugin doesn't have subs in the interfaces, so I guess it is safe to remap it.

I also omitted the mapping of .rco, because it's redundant (there is one file in dev_flash). This saves a few extra bytes in code.

    webMAN MOD 1.45.11
    • Added direct NTFS support to 'Full Edition'
    • Thanks to deank, freddy38510, bguerville, Zar, Joonie, Estwald.
      • Added support for auto-mount game when an USB drive is connected
        • 'Check for AUTOBOOT.ISO on startup' must be checked
        • The USB drives to be checked are the ones selected in /setup.ps3 (except /dev_ntfs)
        • The game must be named AUTOMOUNT.ISO or a JB game copied to the root of the drive
      • Added /minver.ps3

I also tried your suggestion, I unchecked the auto play option, but left the "play disc" combo at the bottom of page checked. Either I held L2 or not, it still auto started game after mounting it. As you said holding L2 while iso is mounting will stop game auto star (if auto play is enabled) and start game( if auto play is disable) but as far as I try, the only option to stop auto play after mounting iso is to uncheck both "auto play" and "play disc combo" options.

Im using rebug cobra 4.81.2 and just updated to latest webman mod 1.46

use the ps3 settings... nothing to do with wmm....from the xmb go to settings tab, system settings, turn off disk auto start. Done...happened to me thought it was wmm settings but its in system settings on xmb :).It may be worth stating this somewhere because i have never used disc auto start options in system settings but that seemed to be turned on after update to rebug 4.80. And yes i thought it had to do with wmm for weeks before i figured that out...so save some time and check the easy stuff first because it took me a bit

Would there be any possibility of being able to put the bigger letters and the cover letters for people with problems in the view? Is that my brother has them like 2 of his friends and I have asked if it may be possible to add some option for people like them who do not see well to be able to enlarge the titles and chapters in the webman column, is that they use screens that do not They are very big and over with their sight problems they do not see them well.

Would be something very good for people with problems in the eyes that can not see well, the power to make the titles and larger titles with some option apart

I don't think that is possible, but you have the following options:
1- Customize your XMB with a different font (maybe one that looks larger on your screen)
2- LaunchPad uses larger icons. Use it instead of the XMB menu (webMAN Games).
3- Use the web to select the games. The browser has zoom option.
4- Create a custom menu with your favorite games in HTML with big letters.

I was gonna suggest either number 1 or the grid style view with webMAN but option 4 is rather genius. You have an amazing brain that thinks outside the box as always. Your knowledge and passion for what you do really shows. It makes all you do shine!!

As I said to them, is that there are people who still do not use hd screens and are still with old tv, and there are also who uses hd screens but 20 inches etc, not everyone has big tv, But if it is not for me it is not, I have a TV of 50 and without problems, but who has them smaller because they say that with the problems they have, because the lyrics of the games etc because they do not see them well, He commented, if you could do something with people with problems of sight etc.

I suggest to people with sight problems to use the browser & its zooming capabilities to control webMAN-MOD instead of the XMB.
It's by far the easiest standard option.
I don't see how we could improve the XMB entries which depend entirely on system font/theme options.
In theory, it might also be possible to create a "magnifying glass" plugin but that would require some development which falls outside the scope of this project...
It should have been done by Sony in the first place!

Sony? It is feasible to make a "magnifying glass" plugin adapting the code of the VSH menu, which already can handle the current display of XMB .

For instance, the function draw_background() in blitting.c could be modified to draw 2X (or nX) each pixel. It is not rocket science; but honestly I doubt that any developer in the scene would waste his/her time in so trivial project :)

Exactly, I mean something like this of wii that to pass by each image this increases the size, but in webman it would be as it is but in vertical, that when we are looking in the list some game as that the card of the game increases.

I put this example, already know that it is wii but more or less so you know what I say and if it can be possible to do something like this with webman, at least in the images.

example:

Would be to add a zoom in the image to pass through it and that this increase, or to be able to change the size of the default tags, I mean that they are not only 270x320, that can be given more increase and that they look bigger.

Of course many people with problems would be very but very grateful, not everyone is lucky that we have others to see well etc, so if someone is encouraged to know that I would be helping and doing a lot of people.

Yes Sony should have made more efforts for people with hearing/sight problems in general in the first place. All areas of the screen, on xmb or not, should be zoomable if required.

I may have misunderstood you but...
You feel that adding accessibility aids is trivial & a waste of time?
It might not be of interest to the majority of users but I still have to disagree with that point of view on principle if it's what you meant..

It would be a great detail to be able to enlarge the images for many people with vision problems, surely they would thank you a lot, since not all see perfectly as many of us, it is more I know people who have to bring much to the screen to see The images of the titles and titles.

You should not have to ask as it's explained in both the wMM General Information thread & the wMM web commands thread.....
http://www.psx-place.com/threads/webman-mod-web-commands.1508/
This is the command:
http://localhost/delete.ps3?uninstall

When webman & wMM were used on the same machine, they mostly produced the same files but there are differences. Uninstalling wMM does not get rid of all webman temporary files.
After using the wMM uninstall command, I suggest you check the /dev_hdd0/tmp & /dev_hdd0/xmlhost folders, to delete any webman related file or folder left over manually,

The hide webman settings (XMB) option doesn't seem to be working currently but I'm not sure if it's just my machine?

I have a small issue with webMAN MOD. If click on "Disable webMAN setup entry" then restart my PS3 webMAN setup is still here. Same with my other PS3 rebug with stock webMAN.
Thank you for your work Aldo & Deank

Did you find a solution to this?
I was ignored here in the forum, the only thing I can do is every time I enter the multiman and leave, I have to use prepNTFS, because if you don't use, will freeze the xmb when is Mount games on WEBMAN MOD

You are right, I tried to turn off Disc Auto Start on PS3 system settings, and also unchecked only the "auto start" option in webman.

it's ok now, nothing to do with check/uncheck "play disc combo :L2 +start"

Ah damn, ayt I'll try using your method cz I'm also experiencing that problem. Tho I'm using a hard drive split into a fat32 partition for everything ps3 related and a ntfs partition for other stuff
