webMAN MOD

PS3 webMAN MOD - General Information Thread 1.47.48q

The alphabetical sorting seems to be wrong here. Is there anything you can do about it @aldostools?

WebMan Mod 1.47.44 on PEX 4.90 and an external 2TB exFAT drive.

Due a memory limitation in VSH, the sort only uses the first 6 characters of the game title + 1 character for game type.

This method works fine for most of the cases. In the game series that start with the same name, at least they are grouped together.

A solution could be to edit mygames.xml and correct the sort manually, but this requires a lot of work that would be lost the next time the games are scanned.

Sorry to post my question here, but I cant create a new thread because of this error "Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator." and I'm not sure whats causing this.

I tried to create a thread with this question (which contained a link to a post in this forum and another one to github documentation page)

The webman mod documentation page only list ext2/ext3 (and of course ntfs) as supported file systems for external devices but not ext4 ("prepISO (formerly known prepNTFS) adds support for content stored in NTFS, ext2/ext3 and exFAT
So I wanted to ask if ext4 is unsupported or is it just missing in the documentation page?

Ext2/3/4 seems to be supported. prepISO uses libntfs_ext by Estwald to access NTFS and Ext

If we updated CFW and HEn before we updated WebMan, how do we fix that? I'm trying to now install the new version of WebMan but getting the black screen when installing and freezing up the system.

If you haven't upgraded yet to 4.90:
It is recommended to install webMAN MOD before upgrade to HFW 4.90 or CFW 4.90.

If you already upgraded to 4.90:
On HFW 4.90 + HEN, create an empty file boot_plugins.txt on the root of a pendrive formatted in FAT32 MBR.
Then reboot and reinstall HEN. After you get HEN enabled, install webMAN MOD 1.47.44.

On CFW 4.90, if you get a black screen when you reboot: enter to recovery menu and exit to return to XMB.
After you're on XMB, install webMAN MOD 1.47.44

Use the online updater or download the installer from https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/releases

It should work from 4.75 to 4.90 without issues (4.75-4.89 use the same lv2 kernel, 4.80 & 4.90 use the same lv2 kernel).

Older versions are also supported, but require to recompile the project with a compilation flag for that.

You find the latest Configs inside WebMan Mod with the Add-Ons installer, on WebMan Mods Github page or on Brewology. The pkg file alsways has a date in its filenane. Current version iirc is from the the 6th of march.

And no Driv3r still can't be properly emulated. Even on PC with PCSX2 it's one of the few remaining games that aren't playable. So the chances are slim that it's ever going to be fixed on the PS3.

I've encountered several issues, not sure whats causing this (I installed the lite version first time):

- first of all, i cant switch between lite and normal version, L1+R1+Triangle unloads webman instead of switching versions (instead of L2+L3+R3) edit: used controller is original sony ps3
- second, which is the most weirdest for me, I cant reach the webserver from pc/smartphone anymore, ip-ps3 only shows not reachable (accessing from ps3 browser works. did work a few days ago)
- third, I tried to uninstall/reinstall. but uninstalling didnt remove the entry from boot_plugins.txt (So I had to use usb device with txt file to be able to start hen again). After reinstall all the issues remained?
I didnt change any default setting apart from using syscon for temperature/fan management
Should I try to remove everything manually or just try to reset to default settings? Before using prepISO I mounted games via irisman which did crash on startup once and file system recovery triggered. Did this maybe corrupt some file webman uses?

edit:
partially fixed, especially the weird webserver stuff (which was even weirder, because couldn't even ping the ps3, but ps3 had internet. But with weird issues). In the end all of this was solved by changing router settings to fixed channel instead of "automatic"

I currently work on a rework of a few covers and added a couple of PAL covers. I reworked from original source cover files with some being contrast enhanced to match others, manually removing noise from scans and rescaled them with a Lanczos to 260x300 and then compressing them as JPEG. Also i exchanged some pre-release covers with release covers and edited some to use the correct black PS3 tilebar instead of the blue one from some renders (Battlefield Hardline and Wolfenstein: The new Order as examples).
Would you be interested in them when I'm finished for the cover packs?

Edit: Small Teaser

Edit 2: Welp, i had a power outage yesterday and most of the pictures are corrupt now. I'll see what i can restore but i only backup once a day and most of them weren't in the backup yet.

The message "webMAN not ready!" occurs when webMAN MOD is not loaded or the http server cannot be accessed.
