PS3 WebMAN MOD PSX & PS2 covers

@aldostools I have tried WebMAN Mod v1.47.26 (full) and It reading covers from: "dev_hdd0/PSXISO/<filename match to disc image name>.png" but doesn't from "dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers_retro/psx/<GameID>.PNG" (my i.e "SCES_123.45.PNG" match of course to my game image).

On top of that, Refreshing Games option, freezing my console (Rebug 4.85.1 Lite).

Have you solved the problem? I have got covers right there, named "SCES_123.45_COV.PNG" and so on. My ISO images include [SLES-12345] serial code in the brackets. But the covers are not shown. However, it does show the PS3 covers, even without the serial number in the filename.

Sometimes could happen that the cover image is too big (in bytes), usually as a consequence of being too big (in pixels)
The program tryes to load it in some kind of "buffer" but the delay is so big that is skipped or some of the pixels are relaced by "garbage" pixels
You could try to optimize the images to see if this is the problem you are having

If PNGs would be to huge, then cover will never show up, right? But they are showing (at least back then) only from PSXISO and PS2ISO, not from covers. So filenames I used was improper or something is broken in WMM code. ^^

Unfortunately, I didn't digging into it because I'm not emulate anything on PS3. So I just doing it once only for tests if size is ok and if PNGs after optipng are readable by PS3 apps.

@insanetoker89 Unfortunately I don't have plans to make PS3 covers. Sorry. But there are available other projects and hosts of various of quality covers. I do not made PS3 set mainly because I didn't find high quality covers in high resolutions needed for make RetroArch/frontends big disc cases (WebMAN Mod covers are just resized versions, put on squares).

Yes, there is no problem when the covers are in the PSXISO and PS2ISO folders named as the ISO filename. But when you copy them to the covers_retro folder in multiMAN they do not show at all.

the size you can make is 260X300 for all cover psx ps2 and ps3 is look better for webman for me try is working just rename the cover whit the same name on iso

@aldostools why PS1 covers like this link below are not in the right aspect ratio (Square)?
https://github.com/aldostools/Resources/blob/main/PSX/SLUS_005.59_COV.JPG

They are in the PS3 Aspect Ratio I presume.

I ask you this because in wMM the PS1 and PS2 covers are not in their aspect ratio but PS3 is in XMB. And when checking your repository it seems its the same thing.

I created a cover following these guidelines here:
https://github.com/aldostools/webMAN-MOD/wiki/Game-Paths-&-Covers#covers

And I was going to upload somewhere but I don't know where to contribute because the first link is not following your guidelines.

The covers in the repository came from multiple sources / users and different tools were used.

That's why you may find some inconsistencies in the aspect ration. The main goal of this repository was to have at least an image that represents the game. Many covers are not accurate in aspect ratio or color. Some images even don't match the region or the real cover.

The repository is being improved gradually with the contribution of the community.

Due the large size of the packages, I update them when there is a good amount of fixed covers.
It takes too much work to update only 1 or 2 covers.

I understand.

It would be nice if PS1 and PS2 images were in different folders in the repo or PKG.
This way It would be easier to create a batch script to resize images following guidelines for each system.

multiMAN have the covers for PS1 and PS2 mixed in the same folder /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608/USRDIR/covers_retro/psx

Many of the initial covers came from multiMAN's online repository.

The package was intended to be compatible with multiMAN, IRISMAN and webMAN MOD.
