PS3 webMAN-MOD users: donations needed!

For the purpose of replacing Aldo's console, I think it is only a matter of keeping this thread live, bumping it like I did earlier if there is no activity for 12h+.
A few more days & we should reach a couple of hundred bucks, that should be enough for a combo console + flasher + double postage in case someone needs to install the flasher.

@aldostools

Good news ;-)
I spoke to esc0 briefly, if ever we cannot find a slim console with permanent flasher for sale, he would be ok with receiving the slim console, installing a flasher we would buy separately & forwarding the console to Florida.
Of course if we can avoid to bother him we will but if we are stuck, we have an alternative.

I could permanently install a flasher on any console using the linker instead of that garbage clip e3 comes with. I have a brand new teensy here, and an extra e3 flasher I bought from atreyu awhile back. Don't know if the e3 works, I would assume it does. Problem with me though is finding the time to do it. Work, kids, wife and life....... I could figure it out though.

Hi, newcomer here, but i have been using WMM for a long time.
I'm impressed of your hard work @aldostools so even if i can't donate i could help finding a CFW compatible Slim.

Here in Spain 2nd hand Slims are pretty cheap. I was lucky and bought a CFW compatible CECH-2504, for 50 EUR even with a legit DS3.

I'll also be able to ship it directly to Dominican Republic with a courier, it would cost around 25-40 EUR depending of final weight with taxes included.

Now the biggest deal is finding a compatible one on 2nd hand stores, i guess it's just matter of going with minvercheck USB and cross fingers.

Thank you @ELJaimes and @ecto for your recent donations. We are closer to the target.

I appreciate very much your offer. Probably it would be more cost effective to find one in USA.
The shipping cost would be too high... In any case I'm very grateful for your offer and donation.

Have you had any luck in tracking one down yet Aldo? My offer stands still, could have a custom install cech L or H like my Japanese ceramic white L00...

Thanks. As I mentioned earlier any CFW model would work for me.

Basically I just need something where to install webMAN and IRISMAN to check that they are working properly.

I mentioned my preference for 25xx because it is the model that I already have and could use it for parts. @littlebalup recommended 21xx because the motherboard is better.

If you think one of these are good options I don't have any objections. We are very near the target amount. We could use the collected money so far to cover the shipping and import costs.

I don't want to derail this thread but I'm curious, what makes 21xx better than 25xx. Both of them have Tantalum capacitors but 25xx consumes 5w less power than 21xx. What's the difference about the motherboards?
21xx = SUR-001
25xx = JSD-001 or JTP-001

The advantage of 21xx is the BD logic board separated from the mainboard. In case of BD failure it's easier to replace and remarry.

But if instead of 21XX, between 20XX and 25XX if you had to choose what would be?

If 25XX fails can I just install CFW with no-BD version?

I already have a 20xx, so i'll choose a 25xx...

No-BD CFW have some limitations and issues. It's always better to replace the BD board and use regular CFW.

Can you do any soldering Aldo? You could try the e3 clip but I never had any luck with that garbage although many here have. I didn't properly shave them, and by time I figured it out the ribbon cracked on 2 separate ones. If I had to try again I'd use kapton on both sides of the ribbon for rigidity.
