With Chiaki you can use a controller on PC and PS4

Yeah I just read GoldHen has remoteplay enabler lol. Just thankfully I didn't update to 8.3 or whatever it is now I would have thrown the PS4 in the garbage. (not really, but I would have been steaming mad)

I'm stuck in IDU mode now and apparently it's trying to update my console I won't let it, but I can't run the exploit either which I need to do to disable it. If I try to connect to internet it starts updating IDU which from my understanding will also update PS4.

Edit: i was able to get out of it without updating luckily.

The payload of IDU is not a really the IDU mode it only simulates it and unlocks some features of it, to get out of it just restart your console, AFAIK every payloads today blocks updates, if yours is trying to update maybe you are using an old one?

Nice, I hadn't realized, in the time when i registered my VITAS/PC the IDU payload was the only method available

lol no it was stuck i restarted my console about 10 times. Completely pulling the power out too it just kept coming back up no matter what. I had to hit R1+R2+L1+L2+up+Options to get out of the loop but it kept trying to update me and it deleted all my websites I had bookmarked I had to figure out darkmodders which was cached and finally successfully ran the exploit to disable it in debug. You shouldn't recommend it to anyone it's a disaster.

I was reading on psxhax everyone who went in it was stuck too so no you cannot just reboot you must have made that up because it's not true. It makes your PS4 think it's a demo kiosk and it will stay in that mode until IDU is turned off.

But I kind of learned how to handle it now the biggest mistake I made was rebooting because then I lost my jailbreak and couldnt easily go into debug and disable it. Plus I was on wifi so it kept trying to update me luckily I had updates disable or my PS4 would be on latest update as we speak.

That thing should not be recommended by anybody unless they explain these things you did not. You just said it was safe which is true but only if you follow very certain steps that you probably didn't know or explain.

Everytime I reboot now I have like 100 games trying to update and they fail but it's still annoying and doing the exploit over and over for notihing it's not fun.

do you have backups of your saves? I didn't realize it would delete saves. it's best to have decrypted (w/ save mounter) saves. you can't access some things like the param.sfo without them being in decrypted form (.dat usually) while pfs is .bin iirc.

I have used save mounter in the past but not lately and I've made a good amount of progress in several games lately. It even deleted accounts I had 6 users on my PS4 then it reset it to user1 and user2 with no saves on it. Games are still there but saves and users wiped clean not a single save exists on the system I tried save mounter and ftp. No one should ever use that piece of crap.

that's pretty terrible. I haven't progressed in any games ever since I exploited my system several years ago. I just lose interest after exploiting a system. I seem to be more interested in modding/exploiting than any games.

I was that way for awhile but one day I decided I'm just going to make myself play games a lot. These last two months I've been playing more games than I ever have. I've beaten 6 games since the beginning of April and working on several others.

off topic, but I just bought a cosmic red playstation 5 controller, preordered it from playstation.com. I'm going to use with my nvidia shield, but damn with shipping and tax, it came up to $91 or so. the controller is $74.99 (about five dollars more than the midnight black or regular one, I think), then $9.99 for shipping, and $6 or so for tax. I didn't realize controllers had gotten so expensive. I bought all four different pro controllers for the switch. some paint is rubbing off of one of them, so I bought a replacement, which I don't use. I use the one with the paint rubbing off. it's my lucky controller. beat the hell out of Odyssey with it.

@NoSoul , I asked a couple dev friends of mine if they were aware of IDU mode deleting users and saves. I knew about the trying to force you to update thing. iirc, it does the same on the vita, which is why I think I mentioned removing all network settings before entering it in my last vita tutorial, just to prevent any accidents.
