PS3 HAN XMB Mods now possible on OFW with HAN (Xploit v3.0)

Lots of xml and rco based mods are now possible with HAN, to help with this future editions of HAN Toolbox will have easy links for injecting commonly modded files to flash. (Thanks to team PS3Xploit for HAN, and especially esc0rtd3w for helping me with this stuff)

Here is a preview of one such MOD, there will be a new option in the toolbox settings for adding a custom epilepsy warning, and maybe some other XMB mods too. ;)

This POC mod wont warn you about epilepsy risks, and might even trigger a seizure if you don't like Emojis :D (I'm allowed to joke, I have epilepsy and that warning never helped me!)


This mod was done by unpacking the sysconf_plugin.rco and editing the text of the warning in the language files, then repacking, then loading the custom RCO back onto the system using a modified HAN installer.

Ive attached the rco file.

Quick question : Can we put up a custom image as a replacement for the epilepsy warning ? I have a rather tasteful picture of Kate Upton that I need to put it up as a welcome screen, for "research" purposes. :rolleyes:

No, but you should be able to load custom coldboot logos in future, I don't know if full colour images are possible though. might have to be like a decal/Silhouette

@pinky knows lots about coldboots and what is possible so might be able to explain more.
 
you can either make a black and white coldboot where black = transparent; grey = translucent; white = opaque. you also have a colored coldboot which can move. afaik, you can't make a fade in/out colored coldboot unless you make a unique script (might be possible, don't know for sure). and, you can't make a black and white coldboot that moves. I've tried to do both, and they ended in failure. I have some tutorials on doing both. @TizzyT made an easy creator for colored coldboots. there's also an app for black and white coldboots, but I don't know who made it or where to find it.
