Soft brick of a NOR flash but those pesky NAND flash system can sometimes hard brick with need of a hardware flasher to recover. Found this out the hard way as I am a new NAND flash owner (again) but luckily I have a teensy++ hardwired in thanks to @Citrus3000psi

Soft brick iirc. Can be fixed thru webman ftp or reinstall cfw. At the second hand, who the heck is still on 3.55 and why?

yes, it's only a soft brick, so there's no real risk if something goes wrong.

No there is no risk for coldboots. It just wouldn't display an image of not right. Happened to me a few times making my own custom coldboot.

the custom_render_plugin.rco contains some coldboot mechanics on top of the script. I was never able to figure out what all of them did, but I did manage to have the coldboot flash on screen. that was when I was trying to make a normal, white coldboot larger (didn't work though). this is assuming u do a gameboot iso since it also uses the custom_render_plugin.rco.

You can use the XMB Mods Collection in the Resources section. It has all the same waves on and alot of other things, it like an all in one iso of xmb mods and is quite good.
