PS3 4.66 HABIB v1.00 (w/ Cobra 7.03)

Custom Firmware Developer HABIB has released his latest CFW with HABIB 4.66 v1.00, that is equipped with COBRA 7.03 feature and the ability to Toggle on and off the cobra payload. Also in this CFW build is deank's new Anti ODE Cobra Patches that has improved Game Compatibility on many problem games for Cobra User's. HABIB has also made some improvements in regards to[break]..[/break] PS2 on PS3 via Cobra with a fix to that Controller Sync issue that has been a problem since 4.50 CFW. Now play your PS2 ISOs without the restriction of that cord like its was meant to be on your PlayStation 3.

Some may wonder if developer HABIB is not with REBUG, but from what we have heard at PSX-Place the developer is still apart of the team and we also should be seeing a REBUG Release soon as well. Checkout all the details of this Standard CFW with Cobra 7.03 from developer HABIB (aka smhabib)

I know that 4.65 had troubles with the PSP emulator but I think they were squashed. PSP emulation on the PS3 is iffy no matter what version you are using. What game is giving you issues and did it work prior on a lower firmware? I always had the best luck on my PSP PKG conversions on 4.30

Been troubleshooting this for hours now. So I started with MHFU with standard 4.65 using remaster PKG to install and run the game. Everything is great except when you AD-HOC with another PSP/PS3 and the game goes into a infinite load loop when you get knocked out and the game tries to load camp area. I switched to habib 4.66 cobra mixed and am using modified mini and remaster launcher by jjkkyu to load MHFU now. Problem is the game does not see the save data in the savedata_minis folder. When I put it into the normal savedata folder it says data is corrupted. When I start a fresh save file the Cobra psp emu will finally load it. What the hell?

How are you adding the save files? Do this to get it done properly

1- Format a USB pendrive to FAT32
2- Make a folder named PSP (note folders ARE case sensitive)
3- Open that folder then make one called SAVEDATA
4- Copy the save folder into the SAVEDATA folder aka PSP/SAVEDATA/ULJM05800QST (that is my Monster Hunter Portable 3rd English translation save folder name and must be copied this way for it to work on the PS3)
5- Insert USB drive into the port closest to the Bluray drive. Then navigate on your XMB to "Game" column and choose "Saved Data Utility (minis/PSP™Remaster/PSP™)
6- Press X on your USB drive and you will see the save(s). At this point press Triangle and then press X on copy.

This will copy your save properly and ensure it is done right. I hope this helps you.

I've been doing it like that so far, only from a real PSP. I tried a pen drive just to make sure, still says corrupted data. Now the pkg version is saying corrupted data, even after I re copy the data from the pen drive and launch the pkg game right after. Does the cobra emu create its own folder for the saves and then redirect the psp emu to there? What's even going on?

Ps2 cobra emu do something like this. Not create diffrent folder but dont use "classic" save location, maybe psp cobra emu do same thing.

Okay so the firmware was never broken, then my next question, how do you get your PSP save files to load in the cobra emu? Where do I have to put them? (Sorry for going off-topic at this point)

Old info, maybe still actual. Cobra dongle writes/reads PSP game saves from path dev_hdd0/home/<userid>/minis_savedata/<SAVEDATA_DIRECTORY>.

You can also try to use game id of remaster launcher instead of gameid in name of <SAVEDATA_DIRECTORY>

Very old and irrelevant info. I also stated that was initially where the savedata was going and the cobra emu doesn't even see it in the minis savedata. It looks for psp save data in the PS3 savegame folder and when I place mine in there , the cobra emu reads it as corrupt unless it's a fresh savegame created while the game was running with the cobra emu.

When joonie added Cobra to Darknet 4.60 he used the PSP emu from 4.55 as 4.60 introduced new problems and lower compatibility. I am assuming this is the issue here as Habib never bothered to fix this. Here is the changlog for proof

2. PSP ISO compatibility is improved by using old 4.55 PSP Emulator. PSP ISO Compatibility is now equal to the previous Cobra CFW builds. [4.46/4.53/4.55]

As far as I know no one has ever looked into this much after 4.60 or bothered with testing as Sony made changes to the EMU after 4.55 and with compatibility being low to begin with most never cared.

True. But monster hunter freedom unite in 1080p on PS3 is a magical experience. An incredible looking game, even better with a dualshock. Sony really should have done this for all PSP titles. I'm so close too. I just need the damn save file to get loaded by cobra.

Try an older firmware bro is all I can suggest or maybe do what n00b and I did to fix the unofficial first port of Rebug 4.46 REX Cobra by haxxen. Swap the emu files from say 4.46/4.53 Cobra firmware and give that a shot. I used PUAD to tear apart the firmware and get the files then mounted dev_blind and copied it via mMOS.

It will not cause a brick and worst I will so is crash then swap back the original PSP EMU files. I know where you are coming from as I was real big into the PSP on PS3 when it was first done on 4.30 in pkg form and 4.46 in ISO form till I found out one could use the PSP Go to play them on a TV with a DS3 and now I just use the PSTV with TN-V 10.

It is a good option for under $100 as the PSTV sucks for Vita gaming but it rocks for PSP in HD. Better compatibility hacked for PSP games then Sony provides. Plays all PSP games as well as PS1 and PSP homebrew. It can be hacked right out of the box. Even the latest firmware can run Ark-2 eCFW on 3.36 the latest official firmware to keep PSN and play the latest compatible Vita games. Only thing that sucks is PS1 games have no sound but you have a PS3 for that and TN is working on a new CFW for the ePSP called TN-X that will work for all PSP stuff even PS1 while keeping PSN access. You would lose the WebKit exploit and official Vita pkg installer over 3.20 but it doesn't allow much but you get to play the latest games and keep PSN. Sony isn't banning eCFW hacks just trying to stop the use of it is all.

Hi guys, I'm new here and have a quick question. I just updated from habit 4.65 to having 4.66. Now when I turn on my ps I get a message saying firmware not supported. Just wondering why.

First welcome to the forums, second please don't post the same reply in two separate forums we will get to your questions as it shows both replies to us. Now I need a little more info. Does this happen when you turn on the system or when you try to load a game? If it is when you go into a manager say multiman just means you need to update your manager.

Ok and thanks. It only shows when I turn on the system, games load fine with gamesonic but now multiman is sketchy.

Sounds like you just need to update multiman is all. Multiman that works on 4.65 is shady on 4.66 but sort of works as 4.65 is a lot like 4.66. Just install a version of multiman that is 4.66, the latest is 4.66.10 as multiman version always relates to the latest firmware. The Iris forks were 4.66 compatible long before multiman was as deank stepped away for a while but Alods and Jonnie updated the Iris forks first and was added to the gamesonic variant shortly after.

Can I just try a different 4.66 firmware? If so which one is a good one, and can I just install it over habit 4.66?

Habib's is IMO the FAR superior 4.66 CFW but if your QA flagged you can roll back to 4.65. If PS2 games are a reason you use Cobra I suggest his or Rebug 4.65.2. I would suggest trying to reinstall his CFW or you could try Darknet 4.66 Cobra CFW it doesn't have the PS2 wireless support like Habib or Cobra does though
