4.75 Custom Firmware (CFW) & Updated Homebrew Apps

You would need to obtain a Console ID before you go about changing it. Which if you get a valid one you can unban yourself. (use caution when buying from other's 9 times out of 10 they are scams, we do not allow the sale of them to take place on the forums for that very reason )
 
what the difference between a cfw and mfw
the end result is not the same?
cfw all they made with that tool or not?

i figured a way how to change the ID, permanently... i just need someone so sell me a vailed, "original" one...

A CFW is a verified, working custom formware made by developers like alexander(ferrox), habib (habib)...chances that there CFW will work are 99%...
MFW is a costume firmware like CFW just made with a tool by someone that likes to experiment... ^^ i don't recommend to install...

in my opinion, there is absolutely no difference if you make a mfw with builder or only with scripts. mfw builder is just a collection of all the necessary scripts you need, to build up a modified firmware. there is no other way of building a mfw without using the very same tools included in mfw builder.

the only difference, cfw developers put in unique patches/functions and also test the results (hopefully, lol), which makes it a cfw in the end.

kinda yes and no. cfw devs look for patterns within each new fw version. the patterns, most of 'em, r listed on ps3devwiki. all cfw devs use fail0verflows tools. mfw does as well. PUAD, scetool, etc. all use them to decrypt the files. then, it's largely like rtm in that u see what's loaded into memory and from where (which offset). it's tedious, but without the actual source code, u can't do much else which is y things can be very time-consuming. I don't mean to compare myself to cfw devs, but whenever I create say a coldboot, I don't use a coldboot tool. I use hex offsets. it's mostly due to me feeling like if something messes up it's my fault not an app. I don't trust automation I suppose. I mean there's an automated tool for updating a jtagged/rgh 360, but I still do it manually for that same reason.
 
PS3 Update

Hi,I am totally a noob in this section(always been a pc gamer)...I have 4.36 cfw in my jailbreak PS3 and it shows a cobra screen in start-up(I am assuming it is COBRA ODE). Recently, I have installed Shadow of Mordor in my PS3 and though it is showing in the games list but after loading the game it just shows a black screen and the PS3 seizes to work.I recently read that I need to update my firmware to 4.75 cfw...to do it, shall I have to first install the 4.75 ofw and then cfw or I can directly update the 4.75 cfw(official) in my system ? ... or is their any other way I can play the game without updating.....
The second problem I am having is that I have a controller that was fully charged until it stopped flashing any light and stopped working...I tried resetting the button but it never worked..is there any other way to make the controller work ?

There is not a 4.36 version. I assume you mean 4.46.. Its not COBRA ODE.. ODE and CFW are two very different things. ODE are very restrictive compared to CFW. ODE should only be used on an Unhackable/downgradable PS3 model (i.e. Super Slim Models). Which if anyone is that position your better off selling that model and picking a downgrade model. or finding one that is on 3.55 (ebay has alot of them). ODE's are crap and last resort.

The game should work fine on your firmware. If its signed for a higher firmware multiMAN can fix it (but i think it needs to be in folder format and not ISO for the fix to be applied by multiMAN)

NEVER INSTALL A OFW ABOVE 3.55 or you will not be able to enjoy a jailbroken console any more (unless you downgrade your console with some hardware). If your on 4.46 CFW then you can update directly to a 4.75 CFW. I suggest before doing that to be sure your system is QA Flag but not required.

Not sure your controller issues.
 
Hi guys im new here. MY ps3 its in 4.75 ofw, i need to jailbreak cuz i get banned on gta v and i bought a new cid.. i tried to make an update with starbucks cfw and its said that the files are damage. Its complete 100% then when its cheking the update its said files damage... Anyone can help me? Sorry for my english
 
It should not be a BAN from PSN but a ban from rockstargames's servers only....and it should be a temporary ban
They told me that this happens for inappropriate conduct or cheating while playing online
 
Hi I'm very new to these things, I have never used them before and I tried for the first time today. After trying both 4.75 FERROX v1.00 - (MD5: 6ADE146697DB3089A71510480C66D42D) and 4.75 Starbucks v1.00 (HABIB) I got the same error messages. " the data is corrupted (8002F165)" what am I doing wrong and how can I fix this? Please help asap
