PS3 4.76 HABIB v1.00 COBRA CFW Released

As we continue to celebrate Halloween, developer HABIB follow-ups his recent Cobra v7.20 released with a new CFW for the homebrew community. 4.76 HABIB COBRA v1.00 provides us with COBRA v7.20 features, Recent Reboot Options on the XMB (thanks to haxxxen & MixeryM@xe), Habib also includes his CINAVIA patches for HDD/BD/DVD media, to allow for your personal freedom on your media. Plus, the usual patches found in HABIB's Cobra CFW builds that vertrans user of the firmware are fmailier with. That definitly did the trick, the game data was almost 9Gb on the drive, i've erased it, it took a while then re-installed again and that's it, the game is running again and better, my progress is all there, no problems to report so far!

I'm having a weird problem. Running ReBug REX 4.75.3 w/Cobra 7.2 & WebMan Mod 1.43.16, in REBUG mode, CEX everything. Everything works fine, but Showtime/Movian cannot open video files from optical discs. It complains "Unable to open file: not owner". Developer says that it sounds like a kernel issue. Anyone have any input?

 

youve already asked this question once. one time is plenty enough to get attention. please dont spam the same question in multiple threads. or better yet, delete your questions and start a new thread about your problem, instead of using a cfw release thread

the psp need rap file where can i fint it?

 

PSP Launcher don't need rap file. If launcher don't work for you try different version. I remember that some of them give me error when launching but i don't remember which one.

 

Everything working great, even fixed a problem with split files I've been having with previous Habib's CFW.

The only problem I have is when trying to "Install All Package Files" from XMB I get error 8002AE32. Anyone with this problem?

You have any pkg named with "space" example: iris man.pkg? You shouldn't. You are QA flagged? You should. Also remember that ipf in game column will multi install only pkgs with .PKG extension (capital letters). Beeter is install thru setting column from qa flag menu (less restrictions). Also if you have homebrews and retail (games, updates, dlcs) then try don't mix them. I can't recall now which pkg (retail or debug) is problematic, but one of them is.

If still nothing, then try this batch resigner: Downloads - PS3 Downloads - CFW 4.XX FAR
But remember to make backup before using that resigner.

You can't install this on 4.76 OFW. You need downgrade first using hardware flasher, but only if your ps3 is cech-25XX or older. On 30XX and super slims you can't downgrade.

As you have a CECH- 2504 on 4.76 OFW, you will have to use 3rd party hardware to install CFW, but only If your PS3 can have CFW installed upon it.

Use A program called minverchk, to find the lowest firmware version you can install on your PS3, If it says 3.56 or lower then your PS3 can have cfw installed on it.

For I am in Africa and buying things from over seas works out to be very expensive as we have to pay for shipping and we have weak currencies.

Yes you can install cfw on a fresh hdd. Once you have patched the ps3's flash to allow cfw then the install process the same as ofw.

I am glad to hear that :chewy: for I have found a way to format the HDD that has the 4.76 OFW installed on it, but would like to know how I go about patching the ps3's flash?

Would installing a CFW as an OFW at the start of a fresh HDD brick it without flashing it?

I think I misunderstood what you were asking about with the fresh hdd.

There is no way to "trick" the ps3 into installing cfw, you must use a hardware flasher(E3 flasher, teensy maybe others I'm not sure) to patch the flash.

As for your question in the post I am quoting, no that wont brick it. The ps3 will just tell you that the data is corrupt.
