PS3 4.83 CFW / Homebrew Apps / Plugins / Tools updated for 4.83

too much bla,bla, louay, please test and retest your cfws before even announce them and submit via private to the mods/devs here.
Anyone can make cfws today, but if you have a problem/brick after install a pup, you have to know how to solve it properly.
Thats much more than managing MFWbuilder or PUAD or hexa.
Just bussinnes.

all that you have say i know thank you for your support and i don't make cfws with mfw builder :) the remain test is for standard no bd and done.

Hi, i want to jailbreak my ps3 for the purpose of modding gta 5 online. to my best knowledge that would require jailbreaking my device correct? i have the older NOR phat PS3, running 4.83 what would you reccomend i do?
 
Yes you need CFW.
Now that you updated to 4.83, you have little choice though.
You must either wait for a ps3xploit update to support OFW 4.83 or use a hardware flasher like Teensy to jailbreak your console.

thank you for the quick response! for the Teensy flasher I would be downgrading to 4.82 ? to then use a cfw? I am trying to understand how all of this works if you could attach some links that could help it would be much appreciated

No.
You could simply apply a no-fsm patch to 4.83 with Teensy then boot console & install a 4.83 cfw of your choice.

Check the pyps3patcher on littlebalup's github repository to see what a no-fsm patch looks like. I dunno if he already updated the application for 4.83. If not, he will probably do it soon.
 
Not sure if this is the right forum for this post but. Im now running 8.43 COBRA 7.55 CFW.
I have been a total noob and obviously lost HAN capability of flashing the category_game.xlm
So now I am wondering
a)this there anyother way to flash this file to the PS3 or
b)i did have QA enabled on 8.42 CFW but now im in the 8.43 i cannot enable it again in rebug (perhaps due to me not running a rebug 8.43 firmwear??) and so far, all attempts at downgrading back to 8.42 have been in vain.
Can anyone point me in tye right direction or is thsi a lost cause?

i have few questions:

1- after updating to CFW 4.83 , does the system require only 4.83 and above ?
2- if question 1 is Yes, what if i missed up and need to install OFW? what to do since it required 4.83?
 
i'm so sorry, but i update my ps3 to 4.83 :( stupid as i am. ) but is there a possibility yet to make a clean cfw for it? because my old hdd is stuck at the update loop.. and i inserted an new hdd.. or do i have to wait a little longer. thanks for all info.

I think you should not release an exploit for 4.83 OFW. Why did people update to 4.83 in the first place? It was obvious that Sony would be fixing ps3xploit with that update. Now these people say that we updated to 4.83 "accidentally". It asks for confirmation a lot of times. I know that it is not an accident but something done purposely. Now people want to know when an exploit for 4.83 will come. For them it's just a joke but you have to put in a lot of hard work and efforts to make an exploit. If you release an exploit, you are just asking them not to be careful!

Totally agree. I think if the devs find an entry point to a new exploit, should keep it private until march/2019, when SONY will end ps3 support.
