You can just update to 4.84 CFW directly via USB, however you do so at your own risk as I'm not sure how thoroughly tested the PUP files are. Personally, I'm still on 4.82 Rebug and see no need in updating to 4.83 CFW despite it being available for a while now.I'm on Ferrox 4.83 CEX Cobra 7.55 with Webman MOD installed on a PHAT NAND PS3, can I just upgrade to Overflow 4.84 v5 CEX Cobra 7.55 without problems or do I have to disable Webman before updating?
Thanks yeah that's understandable, just updated btw. and works like a charm, just Webman is not working, even though it says it's loaded and it even loaded my previous set fanspeed, but it doesn't show up anywhere in the PS3's Menue anymore, have to use Multiman for now.You can just update to 4.84 CFW directly via USB, however you do so at your own risk as I'm not sure how thoroughly tested the PUP files are. Or simply labeled as untested if your going to do things like that.
I find it hard to believe you created all these and tested them in this span
Last time you said you did and it was not the case.
PEOPLE are not your test dummies.

It takes an hour or two to check major files for changes in IDA PRO.
It takes less than 10 minutes to patch files (as I have already previously created programs that auto patch the patches I give them)
It takes less than 30 minutes to create the pup files after files are patched.
It takes less than two hours to install all cfws onto ps3s.
There's no point in testing the cfw for days when there were so little changes.
I was told about the update at 2:30am UK time and released the cfws at 9am UK time (ample time for the process).
I created all 7, as well as testing during creation I then installed them in this order,
v2 dualboot (installed fine, ran disk game, signed into psn and let me install v1 after)
v1 standard cex (let me run game with multiman 4.83 with disc inserted and signed into psn)
v3 standard noBD after removing my blueray drive (could not use disc emulation but signed into psn)
v6 cobra noBD (loaded game via multiman 4.83, signed into psn)
v5 cobra after re installing my blueray drive (loaded game via multiman 4.83 and signed into psn)
v4 standard noBT after removing wifi/bt controller (loaded game via multiman with disc inserted, could not connect to psn obviously)
v7 cobra noBT (loaded game via multiman 4.83, and again could not sign into psn)
I did this process on fat nand C, fat nor K and slim 2001(on slim could not test noBT versions).
Only thing I could not test is ps2 games on cobra as I have none but as I said there were minimal changes from
4.83 - 4.84 so it is VERY unlikely that anyone will have any issues with any of the versions as they do what they are designed to do.
Safety is the main concern. You have created good firmware, not doubting your ability but mistakes do happen. One was overlooked
last time so that means more scrutiny and maybe fielding more reports .
Thanks for the tip, but even after installing webman again, there is no change in the xmb menue, any reason why it could happen? The xml controlling the xmb game column will have been overwritten (happens when installing new cfw), just run the webman installer again and it will be back to normal

why is it not working?multiman 4.83 ???
Thanks for the Info, for the xml's what exactly I have to edit in them? You might need to manually edit the category_game.xmls. Normally it will edit them but a couple of times I have had to do this for webMAN MOD. Also check the boot_plugins.txt on the hdd for webftp_server.sprx, if it no on there it will not boot webman.
