That's handy, wouldn't mind knowing how that's done, like what changes would be need to be made to the cobra source code ect.
Older versions of Cobra on Rebug like 4.80/4.81 loaded webman without it being in the boot_plugins.txt., they load the webman sprx from dev_flash/vsh/modules directly. I would say you will find examples of this in the older Cobra source on joonies github.

I have the source code just not looked through it yet, going to have a good look at it now though.

Really? Your going to accuse a dev of being a fraud?

FYI if you install REBUG REX 4.82.2 and convert to DEX it will show on some backup mangers as 4.81. The same thing really.

Once again... Talking and you have no idea WTF you are talking about... Causing shit for NO reason because you do not know FACTS... See any SCENE Vet with knowledge know this answer.. Its rather common knowledge. Ever stop and think what this thread is for...............................................................................

As kozzy explained

No you stated the guy was making an accusation and if your as smart as you try display about every subject you WOULD OF KNOWN IT and not had to make a baselsss accusation.

So then in your reply here you could of said, Yea i messed up and you could of brought back an accusation back you made,.
Instead you do your classic deflecting and make the non-important part of your post the primary and try and argue that aspect.

To be honest the release notes are a mess
You have standard cfw having the same notes as cobra.
You mention DEX and Cobra modes in release notes of a standard cex..

This is because in any documentation I supply for people to read I try to put as much information as possible without going ott, that is why I include file in cfw download called info about jailbroken ps3s, I like to tell as much information as possible.

Seems like it would be counter productive to give them details about something that is not compatible with the release itself

edit: you do give alot of info in the release txtt docs. that is good but mentioning Cobra DEX in a standard CEX release notes, that is i am referring to :)

hello thanks for sharing, but this is not real 4.84 when i check with webman it says firmware is 4.75.

FYI webMAN detects the firmware version looking for an specific text (0x4345580000000000ULL) in LV2 at specific memory locations (offset). The location of that text varies from one version to another. However, from version 4.75 until 4.84 (with exception of 4.80) the offsets of that text in LV2 kernel are always the same. So the only way to identify a version from another is looking at the timestamp in another offset. The same method is used by multiple homebrews, including multiMAN and IRISMAN.

If the plugin has not been updated for the recently released firmware, it will show the default version 4.75.

BTW In an old release I experimented detecting the FW version using the API. This eliminates the need of update the plugin for each version. However, I had to revert it to the current method because it caused serious issues on systems with spoofed version (trying to patch wrong offsets due the wrong FW version detection)..

If you want to show the proper version in webMAN, you (or some dev here) should compile the following source code:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/r5o87a

Unfortunately my PS3 development environment is not working, so I cannot compile it.

Seems like the Webman version I have installed is correctly showing and read PS3 version 4.84.

https://www.sendspace.com/file/r5o87a
Standard: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xl7wm2ixcvz6ps3/webMAN_MOD_1.47.09_Updater.pkg/file
Rebugification Theme: https://www.mediafire.com/file/s4vq...1.47.09_Updater_rebugification_theme.pkg/file
Metalification Theme: https://www.mediafire.com/file/k6k9...1.47.09_Updater_metalification_theme.pkg/file

Compiled code that @aldostools provided above. I didn't tested any of those pkg as i'm still on 4.82.
